Wilkinson denied any rape or sexual assault. A Newcastle Crown Court jury found Wilkinson guilty

Wilkinson was held in prison for seven years by Penny Moreland. He must also register for sex offences for life.

According to the judge, the victim was a sick person and had been described as blind drunk.

Wilkinson was informed by Judge Moreland: “That’s the condition of the girl that you sexually assaulted or raped.”

“She was especially vulnerable.”

You left her with those crimes and boasted about it to your friend as you drove home.

Judge Moreland stated that Wilkinson denied the offenses and that the victim had consented. However, he added that the jury was certain that this wasn’t true.

Annelise Haugstad, the defender, stated that Wilkinson had no prior convictions and was of “positive good character”.
