A £2.5million Ferrari Enzo has been smashed into pieces after crashing into a tree stump in the Netherlands.

On Tuesday, the crash occurred in Baarn just southwest of Amsterdam. 

The incident occurred when a mechanic from a nearby dealership was driving the Enzo. There were only 400 of these cars worldwide. He was taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries.

It sustained significant damage from collision. Two wheels were also ripped off, as well as several suspension components.  

One witness said that the vehicle’s passenger was crushed into the stump of a tree on the other side.

The crash took place in the town of Baarn, a municipality just southeast of Amsterdam in the Netherlands

After the Tuesday crash, a recovery driver moves the Ferrari on a truck so that it can be removed from the wreckage.

Their comments included: “The Ferrari dealer in your area is only two kilometres from the site.” This is a car that the customer owns.

“The weather conditions were damp, chilly and maybe three degrees below normal.

It struck the stump of a tree on the other side. It struck it from the passenger side, and the stump was broken.

“I’m not sure how it happened but I believe he was trying to get back to the dealer.”

From 2002 to 2004, supercars of the mid-engine variety left Ferrari’s production lines.

The impact of the crash hit the passenger side of the vehicle, while the driver's side has been left relatively unscathed
