After failing to capture Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine overnight, Russian forces entered Kharkiv. Today’s Ukrainian president said that peace negotiations were possible.
On Sunday morning, footage shared online showed Putin’s army trucks rolling across the city of 1.41million people. It is located in Eastern Ukraine at the border with Russia.
Also, soldiers were seen walking through Kharkiv by foot. A very dramatic video shows Russians moving slowly along a roadway before they run and fire their guns at the Ukrainians.
Another online clip shows an unidentified army vehicle that was claimed to belong to Russians set alight. Locals claim the Ukrainians had torched it in order to protect their home.
Oleh Sinehubov (head of the Kharkiv region administration) stated that Ukrainian troops are fighting Russian forces in the city, and asked citizens not to evacuate their homes.
Meanwhile, the UK’s Ministry of Defence released its latest intelligence update, saying there had been an ‘intensive’ exchange of rocket artillery in the city, followed by ‘heavy fighting’ between Ukrainian and Russian forces. According to it, fighting in Kyiv’s capital was ‘less intense than usual’.
Hours after Russia suffered a serious blow, a Chechen column sent by Russia to assassinate Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zilensky was blown up in the hands of locals.
After their 56-tank convoy was destroyed by Ukrainian missile fire, the rebel armed group, known for its barbaric violence, human rights violations, and other crimes, is believed to have been exterminated. Although it is not clear how many were killed, the numbers are likely to be in the hundreds.
The deaths of the victims were announced by The Kyiv Independent Kyiv officials told a news outlet that they had managed to retain control over Ukraine’s capital during combat on Saturday night into Sunday morning.
Mykola povoroznyk was the first Deputy Chairman for Kyiv City State Administration. She stated: “The situation in Kyiv has stabilized, and the Ukrainian army is fully controlling the capital. There were many clashes at night with the sabotage groups.
On Sunday, however, Russian forces entered Ukraine’s second largest city Kharkiv. Social media footage showed Russian trucks and tanks rolling through Kharkiv, which is located in eastern Ukraine. Gunshots can also be heard from the area.
Another video shared online shows Russian soldiers walking into the city of 1.419million people, along with an Army truck that was said to have been engulfed in flames.
Oleg Nikolenko from Ukraine’s foreign ministry said that their airforce shot down the missile targeting Kyiv by an aircraft coming in from Russia ally Belarus.
While fighting continued in the north and south, Russian forces claimed they had blocked Kherson in the South and Berdyansk at the North. This effectively opened up a land link between Russia and Crimea, which was annexed by Russia in 2014.
General Magomed Tushaev is one of the Chechens who was said to be exterminated. He was commander of the 141th motorized national guard brigade – Chechen head of state Ramzan Kadyrov’s elite force.
Tushaev also was pictured together with Kadyrov as a testament to his important role in the Chechen regime. This Chechen regime gained international notoriety because it killed, tortured, and hunted down homosexual men.
Kadyrov may even have visited the doomed squadron before they died in a Ukrainian forest.
Vladimir Putin’s slow efforts to take control of Ukraine are now facing a devastating psychological blow from the terror squadron. Russian Premier had sent the terrorist squadron to kill or capture Ukrainian President Volodymyr Ziensky. He knew full well the brutal reputation of the fighters would cause fear in the hearts besieged Ukrainians.
Every fighter was presented with a deck including photos of Ukrainian officials.
Zelensky, however, is not going down and has earned a worldwide hero status for his courageous dispatches from front line. His reported murders of assassins have caused great disgrace to Chechnya.
Putin seems to grow increasingly angry at his inability to take control of Ukraine and hasn’t issued an address publically for days.
Russia is believed to be the next great power, with its firepower and manpower far outweighing Ukraine’s.
However, the defense of the smaller country has tarnished the Russian military image. The Kremlin is still far away from their ultimate goal to seize the capital of Kyiv as well as establish its government.
Today’s appeal by Ukraine’s Defence Ministry to Foreigners was made to fight Putin’s army and join the armed forces. Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine also urged people to reach out to his office. In a Tweet this morning, he stated that “Together we defeated Hitler and will defeat Putin.”
Today’s fighting was still going on. The Kremlin informed that a Russian delegation arrived in Homel, Belarus, to hold talks with Ukrainian officials. Dmitry Peskov (Kremlin spokesperson) said the delegation comprises military officials as well diplomats.
He stated that the Russian delegation was ready to talk and is now waiting on the Ukrainians.
However, while Zelensky said that while said the Ukraine was ready for peace talks, he said they would not be taking place in Belarus – which was a staging ground for Russia troops prior to the invasion.
In a televised address, Zelensky, standing beside a Ukrainian flag dressed in an army green t-shirt and jumper, said: ‘If there had been no aggressive action from your territory, we could talk in Minsk… other cities can be used as the venue for talks.
‘Of course we want peace, we want to meet, we want the war to end. Warsaw, Bratislava, Budapest, Istanbul, Baku – we’ve offered them to the Russians.
‘Any other city would suit us, too – in a country, from whose territory missiles are not launched at us. This is the only way negotiations can be honest and can really end the war.’
With Ukraine’s military putting up a staunch defence, Putin’s forces are also reportedly being bogged down by poor planning and ineffective coordination. Many units are reportedly operating without the protection of air cover.
With Russia’s invasion stalling three days in, UK Armed Forces Minister James Heappey, writing in The Telegraph, warned Putin’s days ‘will surely be numbered’ if he fails in his ambition to take Kyiv.
‘Progress to Kyiv has been much slower than they’d expected, they were unable to take key cities early and now must try to bypass them,’ he wrote.
‘This leaves pockets of well-armed and well-trained Ukrainians to the rear of the Russian front line, exposing a vulnerable logistics tail – an omen for what awaits Putin.’
Mr Heappey, a former major in the Rifles, said if Putin failed and the Russian people could be shown ‘how little he cares for them… Putin’s days as president will surely be numbered and so too will those of the kleptocratic elite that surround him. He’ll lose power and he won’t get to choose his successor.’
However there are fears that delays in Russia’s invasion plan could lead Putin to become more desperate in his attempts to crush Ukrainian resolve.

A chilling update shared by Ukrainian news website BNO Sunday said: ‘As a result of the mass bombing of Kyiv with all types of anti-aircraft and missile weapons available to the Russian Federation, the missiles that hit the radioactive waste disposal site of the Kyiv Branch of the State Specialized enterprise ‘Radon.’
BNO claimed that there was ‘no evidence of a leak’, but then elaborated by saying that ‘the automated radiation monitoring system failed’ – meaning that dangerous nuclear material could well have been spilled.
Unconfirmed reports that a cancer hospital for children in Kyiv had been shelled by Russians forces meanwhile have also been debunked.
Ukrainian news site TSN said at least one child, a six-year-old boy, had been killed after the Okhmadyt children’s cancer hospital in Kyiv was struck by artillery fire on Sunday morning, reports.
The Kyiv Independent said that at least two children and two adults were wounded in the attack while a picture allegedly showing material covering the body of a child was shared by former Ukrainian ambassador Olexander Scherba.
However the New York Times has rebuffed the claims, saying that while gunfire had been heard near to the hospital, it had not bee targeted by artillery fire.

Local newspaper The Kyiv Independent wrote that an oil depot had been blown up at Vasylkiv Air Base. The city which sits around 40 kilometers south west of Kyiv, close to a key airport. A gas pipeline was also blown up in Kharkiv, a city in eastern Ukraine which sits close to the Russian border.
As the fuel line was demolished, a mushroom cloud filled the city’s skies. A group of cameramen recorded the footage and heard people screaming with horror as the flames rose into the air. It’s not clear if any one was hurt or killed in either blast.
Ukrainian TV station Nexta It shared footage that showed flames rising from the ground at the Vasylkiv site as fuel was burned. Also, it shared footage of the moment that the oil depot was opened. The brightly lit fuel depot filled the darkness with light as a bright white glow.
According to the outlet, a preliminary assessment had shown that there is no radioactive threat to anyone living in the vicinity. A further inspection will be conducted once the area has been declared safe.

Vasylkiv explosions, which were believed to be triggered by Russian missiles ballistics, filled the sky over Kyiv in an orange glow early Sunday morning. The explosions left many wondering if any person was hurt or died.
The explosions were first reported by CNN and stuck close to the Ukrainian capital’s secondary airport, Boryspil International. The explosions occurred about 15 minutes apart and were set off by car alarms located miles away from the epicenter.

Defense expert said Russia failed because Russia had not enacted a tactical Plan’. He also claimed that Russia did not expect the attack to cause panic among civilians, armed forces and (Ukrainian president Volodymyr), Zelensky to flee.
