Amanda Knox called Rudy Guede on her behalf to “restore her wrongly-damaged reputation” and accept full responsibility for Meredith Kercher’s murder as he served his sentence.
Guede, aged 34, was finally released after being accused of the brutal murder and assault on Kercher, 21, in Perugia (Italy) in November 2007.
He was convicted in 2008 for the murder that also saw Kercher’s American flatmate Knox and her Italian boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito jailed but then sensationally acquitted.
Guede was found guilty of the crime after Kercher discovered his DNA. This despite Kercher’s claims that Guede was listening to music in his bathroom when he killed Kercher.
Knox posted a Twitter thread on Tuesday saying that Guede should help her clear her name and admit that he was the one who committed murder.
He was sentenced to a reduced sentence by her. His relationship with the Italian justice systems is over and he is free now. You can imagine how I feel.
Amanda Knox (pictured), has asked Rudy Guede ‘to restore her wrongly-damaged reputation’, and to take complete responsibility for Meredith Kercher’s assassination.
Guede, 34 (pictred), was released officially on Tuesday after being convicted of the brutal murder and sexual assault that Kercher, 21 years old, committed in Perugia in Italy, in November 2007.
Kercher’s American flatmate Knox, (pictured), was jailed with her Italian boyfriend Raffaele Solecito. They were then sensationally freed.
‘When I was incorrectly convicted for his crime, I got 26 years. Guede was convicted of Meredith’s crime because his fingerprints were in Meredith’s blood. Meredith had her DNA on Guede and fled immediately while I helped the police. Guede was sentenced at 30 years. Appeal reduced it to 16.
Guede received work-release in 2020 after completing 13 years of the 16-year sentence.
Guede is able to use his tremendous power of healing others who are hurt because of his actions. He can tell the truth. To take full responsibility and stop trying to blame me for Meredith Kercher’s rape/murder, which there is plenty of evidence that he did.
Guede lives outside of Viterbo, on probation for the past year. His sentence was reduced to good conduct.
Kercher has been denied by him all his life.
Knox continued: ‘Were he to actually acknowledge his responsibility, it would bring closure to the Kercher family, it would end the murky speculation around this case, it would restore my wrongly damaged reputation, and that of Raffaele.
His honesty would end the biased media coverage that endlessly repeats “the only one who is still convicted of the murder British student Meredith Kercher”, which while true, implies there were many responsible.
Knox urged Guede, to apologize for his crimes and accept that he was responsible for the murder.
“There weren’t. Guede acted alone. Guede acted alone.
All that could be done right now by Guede. He might ask forgiveness. He could ask for forgiveness if it was true repentance and he made clear that he wanted to live a honest life and make amends.
‘People change. Rudy has it? It is said that the truth will free you. He’s now free. But he continues to carry the guilt of the past, which makes it difficult for others to be truthful.
People who have known the killer claim that he is an excellent prisoner, who put his past behind him, and who spends his time studying to get his master’s degree.
Rudy is available for interview by many newspapers and media outlets, unfortunately. Rudy isn’t a star, and after 14 years, he wants to forget,’ Claudio Mariani, Claudio Mariani’s professor of criminalology, said.
“There are no other details to the story except the fact that a young British girl’s life was tragically cut short, and her family taught us dignity and the importance of keeping silent.”

Fabrizio ballarini said that this was the final moment in a very tragic affair. “First thoughts should be directed to the victim’s family. Rudy is now in a great place of rehabilitation.
Guede studies at Roma Tre university for a master’s program in historical science. Ballarini told Judges that Guede has ‘high social integration’ and an ‘irreproachable behavior’.
His day release was his first offer from Viterbo in 2017. He then began to work as a librarian and researcher at the Centre for Crime, Judicial and Sociological studies.
Although he lost the appeal, he was able to win support from local activists and has been able to integrate.
Guede also set up a tournament of chess for Viterbo residents.

He claimed he went into shock after discovering her body dead in the toilet.
Guede fled the scene of the murder by taking a train to Germany, where he was later arrested.
The charges against him included murder and sexual assault. He received a sentence of 30-years imprisonment, but it was reduced to 16-years by an appeals court.

Lumumba spent 2 weeks in jail and was only released after someone presented an alibi.
Knox and Sollecito were cleared in 2011, but they were again convicted by the Florentine appeals courts in 2014.
The Appeal Court ruled Kercher could not have sustained the injuries to his body by Guede.
The 2015 final ruling by Italy’s Supreme Court overturned this decision. It stated that Knox’s and Sollecitos convictions resulted from’stunning faults’ during the investigation.
