At 29 years old, a Michigan woman spoke out against the COVID-19 vaccination and mask mandates. She leaves behind her three children.

Bridget Jackson from Port Huron had promoted her anti-mask and anti-vaccine stances on Facebook. She shared memes, posts, and one where she stated that she understood the dangers of the disease, but didn’t place fear above life. 

She was ill with the virus in November, and she wrote to her doctor complaining about it.

She passed away on December 21, leaving behind a fiancé and three children under the age of ten.

According to her obituary, Jackson, who worked at a car dealership, had spent most of her life in Burton, Michigan, 

‘Bridget’s greatest love was her family who she enjoyed camping and traveling with, but her world revolved around her children. She enjoyed reading during her quiet hours. [sic]It read, “Times are a lot.”

Jackson voiced his opposition to mask-wearing as a precaution against the spread of the pandemic.

“Just because we don’t wear masks doesn’t mean that we are lacking in common courtesy and don’t respect you,” she said. “We believe that your fear should be your problem.”

In another blog post, she repeated the fear argument. 

As the pandemic swelled, Jackson was vocal against precautions that can be taken to prevent the virus, including mask-wearing

Jackson vocalized against mask-wearing and other precautions to protect the public from the flu pandemic as it grew in severity.

'Just because we don't wear a mask doesn't mean we lack common courtesy or don't respect you,' she wrote. 'We simply believe your fear is your issue'

'Just because someone isn't afraid of Covid doesn't mean he or she doesn't believe in it. He or she understands the risk but doesn't prioritize fear over life,' she wrote

“Just because someone does not fear Covid doesn’t necessarily mean that they believe otherwise. She wrote that while she understood the risks, she didn’t place fear above life.

Jackson’s grandfather Bob Jackson died in October from COVID-19.

She was diagnosed about a month later and requested that her Facebook friends ‘keep my in your thoughts’

“Friends who had covid ended up in hospital.” How did you strengthen your lungs with lung exercises? She asked her November 26.

Her December 1st, 2008 statement was: “Covid sucks.”

She came down with the virus in November. On December 1, she wrote: 'Covid sucks'

In November, she was afflicted by the virus. The virus infected her on November 21st. She then wrote that she was ill with the virus December 1st.

Her sister, Danielle Race, offered an update: 'She has been in the hospital the last month she's been fighting covid as of a couple days ago she took a turn for the worst and she is on the ventilator 100%'

Her sister, Danielle Race, offered an update as well, writing: ‘Everyone please keep my sister Bridget Jackson in your prayers. 

She is currently on 100% ventilator after taking a bad turn in her fight against covid. 

“Her lungs are strong she is not doing well, she’s only 29, she has 3 children under 10 years of age and 1 fiance. Her youngest child is not even 2 yet. [sic]’

Finally, last Tuesday, she lost her battled to the disease, leaving behind her fiancé Eric Maitland, her daughter Grace Mass with her two sons Alexander Mass and James Maitland.
