An artificial intelligence photographer created eerie photographs of Kurt Cobain (Princess Diana), Janis Joplin and John Lennon.

Alper Yesiltas is a photographer from Turkey who captured these images as part of a project called “As If Nothing Happened.” 

To create these pictures, he used photo editor software for artificial intelligence and photo enhancement programs. 

‘With the development of AI technology, I’ve been excited for a while, thinking that “anything imaginable can be shown in reality,”‘ Yesiltas wrote about the project.

The haunting and realistic images are the work of Alper Yesiltas, a photographer based in Turkey, created the portraits for a project titled 'As If Nothing Happened.' The artist continued, ‘The hardest part of the creative process for me is making the image feel ‘real’ to me. It is that moment when the image I see in front of my eyes looks as real and authentic as if it had been taken by an artist. That’s the moment I enjoy the most.

Every celebrity in the project was tragically or young at death.

At 36, Princess Diana died in Paris after her Mercedes-Benz crashed in pursuit of paparazzi.

John Lennon (Boba) was killed in an accident outside New York City, New York City. He was 40 years old.

Heath Ledger, an actor and director died from accidental overdose of drugs on January 22, 2008. He was 28 years old.

Jimi Hendriz was 27 when he overdosed on drugs.

Janis Joplin, aged 27, was killed by a heroin overdose.

Yesiltas said that this project was inspired by the question, “How would people look photographically if certain great events didn’t happen to them?”
