Sam Kerr is an Aussie soccer legend who has taken down a pitch intruder trying to snap a picture with an AFL shoulder charge.

A male spectator attempted to make his way onto Chelsea’s field for the Champions League game against Juventus. But the Blues player was not in the mood for taking selfies.

Kerr, 28, smashed the fan, leaving him prone on the turf at Kingsmeadow in London – only for the Matildas captain to inexplicably receive a yellow card from referee Sara Persson.

Daniel Kerr won the AFL premiership with West Coast Eagles in the on-field battle. Her sister would surely have been happy to see the smile on her face after the brutal encounter.

Australian sports enthusiasts also likened the bump to Andrew Symonds’ famous case in which Symonds was charged with shouldering a pitch intruder at Brisbane’s Gabba. This occurred during the 2008 one-day international against India.

English sports journalist Molly Hudson tweeted: ‘I have never seen that at a women’s game … Pitch invader, Sam Kerr pushes him over and gets a yellow card. Bizarre.’

Adam Millington, a football reporter wrote that Sam Kerr was an absolute legend. This was her finest moment in the last week.

GOAL women’s football correspondent Ameé Ruszkai labelled Kerr’s bump a ‘work of art.’

Hayley McGoldrick, sports fan and tweeter, was shocked by the referee’s decision. The referee must be fired immediately. 

Kate Tigs was another soccer fan who joked that after viewing the online footage, she couldn’t breathe. 

One third claimed that the referee is ‘clueless,’ and should be removed immediately. 

Kerr was bluntly hip and shoulder after scoring a brace that helped Chelsea defeat Arsenal 3-0 in Monday’s FA Cup final. 

Kerr was at her most clinical, scoring her second goal. She chipped it over Manuela Zinsberger, the rival goalkeeper.

After beating the Gunners, Kerr stated that it wouldn’t go in the first-half but that it would come.

“We were certain that if they kept pushing, they’d eventually give in. And they did.

Kerr celebrated her win with champagne, declaring that it was a tradition.

Kerr was the first Australian woman ever to receive an FA Cup winner’s medal at Wembley. Harry Kewell and Craig Johnston also achieved the feat.

The gun striker, who finished third in the recent ballon d’or women’s standings, dates US soccer international Kristie Mewis.
