A mother who kept a remarkable birthday spread in her six year-old son’s lunchbox has been praised.
To make the day memorable, she filled her son’s lunchbox with miniature balloons. She also made her son’s peanut butter sandwich into a cake using a candle and sprinkles.
The mum added gift bows to individual plastic containers, and attached a birthday napkin to each lid to surprise her little boy when she opened it.
Photos of her efforts have been liked more than 2,500 times since they were posted on an Australian Facebook group. Parents were delighted to respond, saying they could feel the excitement in the little boy just by looking at the photos.

Photos of her efforts have received more than 2500 ‘likes’ since being posted to an Australian Facebook Group. This prompted delighted responses from parents who were able to ‘feel’ the boy’s excitement by simply looking at them.
“Aww, I feel so happy for my birthday just from looking at this, great job mama!” One woman wrote.
Another said, “I’d love for him to have seen his reaction when this was opened.”
Others called it ‘adorable, brilliant, and a perfect way to make a birthday memorable even if it falls on a Monday.
It’s not the only elaborate lunchbox to make headlines in this year’s media.
The parents of an eight year-old boy caused a lot of controversy last month by giving their son lobster tails and candied pecans in their lunchbox. This was because he’requested it’.
The father of the boy shared a photo of his lavish lunch, which included lobster salad, blueberries, nuts, three KitKat bars, chunks of orange, and white peach.
