A swimwear designer and influencer from Australia has shared her reasons for not feeling guilty about gaining weight during the holidays.
In a post to Instagram, Karina Irby, 32, from the Gold Coast, shared a bikini photo from October then another from December after putting on a few extra Christmas kilos.
“Yes, I’m slightly more bloated and round than I used to be, but I’m content,” she said.
Body-positivity Queen said that she was excited to “physically kick my butt back in the best shape” by 2022.

Many of her international followers were quick to praise her confidence and comment.

Karina, a swimwear designer for her company Moana Bikini has over 1.2 million followers on Instagram. This is thanks to her positive and upbeat posts.
She has reacted to internet trolls calling her a whale in the past after sharing a video where she was seen dancing around her living area wearing only her underwear.
‘It says a lot about their character if they’re hiding online behind a fake or troll account and giving hell to someone who is just trying to make people feel good,’ she said.
“I believe that if you feel confident and in control, you will be able to stand up for yourself and tell the rest of the world what you really think.”

Karina added one heartless comment to the video. Karina said that Karina sucked and that the writer had been ’embarrassed for her.
No one wishes to see fat, slut-mouthed chicks dance poorly to Macarena. The cruel message said, “Go for a jog, and you’ll get a thigh space, you whale.”
Karina didn’t feel bad about herself like the bully, she just slammed her bodies.
She said, “This is the lowest form of bullying online and they are everywhere.”
Before adding that they do have a huge impact on peoples mental health.
‘It’s such a shame we can actually let these ghosts inside our minds. Keep your cool. It’s okay to shake it off. Have fun.
‘I don’t want anyone to feel alone or lonely when they are going through or experiencing whatever struggles they might be facing.’
Karina frequently shows pictures that show the differences between unposed and posed looks.
Instead she would rather encourage people to get in touch with one another and share their troubles so they feel less isolated.
She said that although it may seem isolating and alienating to your immediate peer group, this is normal. There are people all over the globe who can help you understand and accept what you’re going through.
Her fans supported her side. One said that the trolls should be ashamed of their behavior if they didn’t want to reveal their face.
Some called Karina the queen of self-love, and for turning away from negative remarks.
I envy your strength in the face of these hate comments. If I received even one of those hateful comments about me, I’d literally be unable to stand. That’s why I follow you – so I can remember there is good and strength in the world,’ one woman said.
Another said Karina appears confident and strong, which is something that they would like to improve upon.

Karina shares photos of posed and unposed bodies to demonstrate how different they look when in natural form.
She admitted in one photo that she didn’t feel the selfie, but she reaffirmed her feelings when she viewed it again.
‘I also think it’s SO puppy important to share relaxed pics like this on socials because it’s a nice reminder bodies also look like this,’ she said.
Her battle with eczema has been documented by her. It can cause her skin to become dry and itchy.
