This is the moment a council binman allegedly brands a woman a ‘scummy f*****g p***k’ after finding vegetable peel inside her recycling bin.
Charlotte Wallace says she was able to hear the exclamation when the Stoke-on-Trent City Council worker opened the blue container in which she kept her potato peelings.
According to the website of the council, blue bins should only be used to recycle waste such as aluminium cans and plastic bottles. Food waste must go into brown bins.
The footage of the incident was captured on Ms Wallace’s CCTV camera. She sent it to the council with a formal complaint.
After apologizing, the council promised to examine the video but did not say anything about the result of their investigation.
Ms Wallace stated that she would not normally be home during this time, as I would be working.
‘I heard him shout “scummy f*****g p***k” up at my house, then go to his mate and say “scummy f*****g b******s”.
“Our CCTV camera could pick up some of this.
“It was just an outlandish reaction to a few potatoes peelings. The only thing he needed to do was write a note that they wouldn’t be emptying the garbage can.

Video footage shows the binman, wearing a high vis jacket, looking inside the blue bin. He then shouts expletives

They moved on to the next home without emptying the blue recycle bin. This was because it contained potato peelings that should be put in brown bins.
“He shouted, however, in the street to everyone so that everybody could hear him.
“Anyone who has heard him would wonder what the problem was.”
She said, “I complained about it to the council and they stated they would look into it. But they aren’t going to be in a position to tell me whether they do something.”
“Meanwhile, I still have the bin full until next collection.
“They recommended that I recycle in a cardboard container, but it won’t last long here.
Stoke-on-Trent City Council spokesperson confirmed that this incident is being investigated.
He added, “We are grateful to Charlotte Wallace for this.
“Our bin men and all other council employees work to extremely high standards and we expect nothing less of all our employees.
“We are investigating the allegation. We would like to apologize to Ms Wallace for any discomfort she might have felt.”
