Blackjack Lanza, a pro-wrestling legend, has passed away at the age of 86.

  • For more than 20 years, Wrestler has been active in the wrestling ring 
  • His tag team, The Blackjacks, was a wrestling group that he wrestled with Blackjack Mulligan. 
  • Later, he worked for WWE as a travel agent. 
  • Lanza was elected to the WWE Hall of Fame in 2006.










WWE boss Vince McMahon announced Wednesday that Blackjack Lanza, a pro wrestler, has passed away at the age of 86.

McMahon shared his thoughts on social media, “Our hearts go out the family and friends Jack Lanza,” He was loved and respected by all. His love and dedication to WWE lasted many years. He will be remembered for his dedication and loyalty.

The WWE Hall of Fame inducts the grappler in 2006. He fought in The Blackjacks tag team with Blackjack Mulligan. Later, he worked as a road agent.

His cause of death has not been revealed, TMZ reported. 

A number of Lanza’s wrestler friends paid tribute to their friend.

Jim Ross, legendary announcer, tweeted: “Just heard from Bob Holliday, old Winnipeg friend that Jack Lanza had died at the age of86. Jack was our Attitude Era lead agent. Helluva hand.’

Triple H applauded Lanza’s skills as a road agent of the wrestling company.

Triple H lauded Lanza's candor and guidance as an agent in remembering him

Triple H was proud of Lanza’s honesty and leadership as an agent when he was remembered by him 

‘Certain talent will seek certain agents for advice, but EVERYONE sought out Lanza’s,’ he wrote. ‘The sweetest man but incredibly tough & 100% dedicated to making us better.

‘Jack often didn’t tell you what you wanted to hear, but ALWAYS told you what you needed. I’ll miss you dearly my friend.’

AEW star Matt Hardy recalled how ‘Lanza was the lead road agent when my brother & I first started full time with @WWE, and ‘treated us great & taught us so much about working & surviving on the road.’

He added, ‘Saddened to hear about Jack’s passing. My thoughts go out to his family & loved ones.’

Vince Russo used to call Lanza a ‘true mentor’. He ‘taught’ his writing skills. [him]It’s all so wonderful.

Without him, I would not have gotten to where I am today. Never. I am grateful for everything you have shared with me. Your kindness will not be forgotten.
