According to DailyMail.com exclusively, the grandmother of one of the children left behind and neglected by their mother tells DailyMail.com that she wishes she had known the dire situation these children were in. She would have adopted all of them.
Linda Smith, 71 years old, stated that she is sickened at the things Gloria Williams and Brian Coulter are accused to have done to her children.
Smith shared photos of Gloria Lee’s children with DailyMail.com, Trevon Lee (10 years old), Ja’Veon Kirlin (7 years), and Kendrick Lee (8 years old). Smith revealed that Williams also has a 17-year-old daughter, Jasmine Rene Whitaker.
The Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled that Kendrick suffered multiple blunt force injuries, resulting in his death by homicide.
Williams, 35 years old, is charged for starving and neglecting children. Coulter (31), is charged as having beaten Kendrick to death.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office has released booking photos showing Brian Coulter, 31, being charged with the murder of his girlfriend’s eight year-old son. Gloria Williams, Gloria Williams’ mother, has been charged with neglecting and starving her children.
Ja’Veon Kirklin, seven years old, is the son of Jonathan Kirklin Smith. He has been in and outside of jail for several years, but has not been a part his son’s daily life.
“All of Gloria’s children lived with me for a very short time in 2014, and my son went to prison for approximately 6 months,” she stated.
“I quickly discovered that Gloria would invite different men to my home when my son was in prison. I don’t know what she was doing to them. Gloria denied it when I discovered it. But I told her that she and her children had to go.

Linda Smith, 71 years old, is the grandmother of one of Gloria Williams five children, who were left in Texas House of Horrors.
Smith claimed that Gloria and her children left the house, and it was many years before she saw Ja’Veon again. ‘Gloria just vanished.’
Smith claimed that Williams called her a few years back and asked her to meet her at a McDonald’s. Ja’Veon was brought along by Smith to see. “I think that if she had asked me, she would have allowed me to adopt Ja’Veon. It was a feeling I had.
Smith claimed she learned about the fate of her grandson and Gloria from the media. “I will adopt all of them.” I’m so sorry to hear about Kendrick and the other children.
“I regret having kicked her out. I should never have done that.” I’ve been asking myself, what else have these kids experienced with all of the men who have been in and out her life? Was the children molested or abused?
Smith had to sit down at one point because she was feeling lightheaded and overwhelmed by emotion.
Smith replied to Williams’ text on August 31st after several years of no communication. Smith asked Smith if Jonathan was her son.
Smith replied, September 9, “Not lately.” What’s the problem? Williams replied, ‘Nothing, I just want see how he’s doing.’
Smith then asked Williams what her grandson Ja’Veon was doing. Williams replied that he was doing well.

Smith claimed that although she hasn’t spoken to any law enforcement, she confirmed that Kendrick Lee, the 8-year-old son who was killed, is her. The children are pictured together with Gloria’s mother Hazel Williams.

The Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office on Tuesday ruled that Kendrick (left) suffered multiple blunt force injuries, resulting in his death by homicide.

DailyMail.com has obtained court documents that show Williams was twice charged with failing to enroll her children at school. Both charges were later dropped due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In this undated file photo, Williams is seen with Coulter.
Smith was then informed by Williams that her mother Hazel was in the hospital. Williams said, “U know my mom in hospital she had a stroke so can’t breathe on her own she been in hospital for two weeks so it is going to be hard right now.
Smith cried as she read the text aloud. It was clear that she was having a hard time. When her children were starved, one of them was dead and the others were left to fend on their own.
“The Gloria I knew would never have done this to her children, but it seems like she did. I guess you never really know who someone is.”
Brian Coulter (31), has been charged in connection to the death of the child. Court documents obtained by DailyMail.com identify him as Kendrick Le.
Gloria Williams, 35, Coulter’s girlfriend and the victim’s mother, is charged with injury to a child by omission, failure to provide medical care and failure to provide adequate supervision.
The two were questioned by investigators and released after they had completed a welfare check on Sunday. It was during this time that they made the horrifying discovery.
Williams’ 15 year-old son had been caring for his brothers with the help a neighbor, who brought him food and charged their phones when the electricity was cut. Williams called 911 to request a welfare check.
Additional court filings show that Coulter and Williams also left the eight year old’s body in a closet to rot, and then abandoned the woman with her other children.
Williams and Coulter will make their first court appearances Thursday morning.
DailyMail.com has obtained court documents that show Williams was twice charged with failing to enroll her children at school.
KTRK was told by Alief Independent Schools District that the school district filed Truancy papers against the mother of two siblings in 2019/2020. The children were last enrolled May 2020.
Both charges were later dismissed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The death of the eight year-old boy has been ruled a homicide by police.

Gloria Y. Williams, 35, from Houston, and Brian W. Coulter, 31, her boyfriend, were arrested Tuesday and charged with abandoning and neglecting her children for months while her eight-year-old brother, who died in the home, decomposed in the house for over a year.

Two days earlier, Williams’ three children were found abandoned in a Houston apartment by law enforcement officers. Investigators also found the remains of Williams’ eight-year old son, who had been missing for more than one year.

The Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office on Tuesday ruled that Kendrick suffered multiple blunt force injuries, resulting in his death by homicide.
According to the victim’s 15-year old brother, he and his two siblings had lived in the apartment with his decomposing body for a year.
Shortly before calling 911 on Sunday, the teen texted his mother to inform her that he couldn’t take it anymore.
The call revealed a number of disturbing facts, including that the children aged 15, 10 and 7 had been left to fend on their own for several months, relying heavily on food donations from unsuspecting neighbours to survive, while sharing an apartment in which they were living with the remains of their sibling, even though their mother and boyfriend lived only 15 minutes away.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office detectives questioned the couple and released them on Monday, pending the outcome to the criminal investigation.
Child welfare services in Texas have also launched an investigation into the horror find at the apartment complex on Houston’s west side.
Erica Chapman, a resident of CityParc II at West Oaks Apartments said that she was one of the people who fed the malnourished 15 year-old, even though she didn’t know he was living with two younger brothers.
Chapman stated that he first saw Chapman while he was asleep on one of the slides.

Williams, the mother to the three children, lived 15 minutes away from the apartment complex, where her 8 year-old son was found murdered, with her boyfriend, Coulter.

Law enforcement officials stated that the three children were fed by their neighbors.

Investigators also discovered inside the apartment the body of an eight year-old boy.
Chapman said that she noticed that the teen’s mother was rarely home. She would sometimes show up with snacks, noodles, and drinks. The teenager would run downstairs to get the food and then return home to her apartment.
Chapman claimed that she began offering food to the 15-year old about six months ago. However, she said that he refused to eat cooked meals and only accepted packaged snacks.
Trevor Thompson, another neighbor, said to the station that the boy was paranoid and feared being poisoned.
Thompson stated that the teen knocked at Thompson’s door one day asking for a charger. Thompson said that the boy asked for a charger and Thompson was able to form a relationship with him. The neighbor also offered food to the boy.
Thompson and Chapman both said they didn’t know there were two younger children living in the home with the 15-year old.
Thompson recalled that he once asked the teen whether he liked the pizza he had made him.
“What was the first pizza you had?” Thompson asked, “What was the first time we had pizza?” Thompson recalled. Thompson said, “That made me wonder why he would say, “We”.
