Brazil’s President Jairbolsonaro was discharged from the hospital Wednesday after being treated for a blockage in his intestine.

Bolsonaro, aged 66, addressed a news conference along with his medical team, before he left Vila Nova Star Hospital in Sao Paulo. Bolsonaro stated that he is ready to go back to work.

“It is difficult to just sit and do nothing.” “Life goes on,” he said, adding that he would “try to follow” his doctors’ recommendations: restricted eating and minimal physical activity.

The latest health problem is that of the far-right leader who was repeatedly stabbed in the stomach at an event during his 2018 campaign for power.

President, who had been on New Year’s vacation at the beach when his stomach pains began, was wearing vacation clothes as he spoke to the media.

He said that he would be ready to tackle the business of 2022 in his final year of the four-year term.

“All of my events will continue. This month I have a trip to Russia, Rio de Janeiro and the Northeast ….. He said that he would continue his normal activities.

Initial doctors had indicated that Bolsonaro might need surgery.

After putting him on a liquid diet, and emptying his stomach through the nasogastric tube they reported that Tuesday’s blockage had been cleared without any surgery.

Bolsonaro’s lead surgeon Antonio Luiz Macedo stated that Bolsonaro is in good health and “ready to work,” but he said future episodes could still be possible.

Bolsonaro has scar tissue that can block the intestines, according to doctors.

President Obama was hospitalized last July after suffering from the same issue for ten consecutive days.

Doctors also put him on liquid diet at that time and did not perform an operation.

Bolsonaro will be following a “special diet” for one week. He is advised to slow down, chew well, and take walks, but not do intense exercise.

Bolsonaro was attacked at a rally in September 2018. The attack by a man who said he was following God’s instructions, resulted in at least four surgical procedures.

Bolsonaro and his circle of friends had long claimed that the attacker was part in a conspiracy to overthrow the Left-wing movement.

Bolsonaro, before she left the hospital, stated that “What’s worrying me now isn’t mine agenda. It’s my safety.”

“We recognize that the left is aggressive. They’ll do anything to get rid of their opponents.”

Bolsonaro is often emotional when discussing the knife attack which almost cost his life.

He survived despite losing 40% of his blood. In October, he won the presidency. This fueled supporters’ belief in him as ‘Mito’, or ‘The Myth.

However, Bolsonaro’s invincibility aura has diminished since that time.

While his polarizing style is still arousing support from his far-right base and has not lost any of its vital support in the political center or business sector, it continues to anger them.

Recent polls show Bolsonaro trailing his most likely opponent in the October election, LuizInacio Lula do Silva, a leftist ex president.

Bolsonaro is often criticized for his economic depression, high unemployment and inflation, as well as his handling of Covid-19.

He refused to acknowledge the existence of coronavirus in Brazil and has ignored all advice regarding its control. The pandemic is second only to that which has struck the United States.
