British mom-of-1 and agent in real estate, 40 years old, has been shot dead in Florida. She was showing potential new tenants $515,000 of the property that she was renting.

  • Raymond Reese (51), a former tenant was also arrested in Boca Raton that day on a first-degree murder charge
  • Reese, according to neighbors living nearby was an unhappy tenant who was forced from the home of $515,000 by his landlord.

Sara Trost, 40, was a British real estate agent living in Parkland, Florida, when she was shot in the driveway of one of the properties she was trying to rent out on Thursday

Sara Trost was 40 years old and a British agent in real estate. On Thursday, she was shooting in front of one of her properties.

Florida: A British estate agent was shot to death by an ex-tenant outside of a home that she might have shown to a new tenant.

Sara Trost is originally from Southend, Essex. On Thursday, she was in her Jeep parked in front of the Coral Springs home, which is 40 miles north of Miami. 

Raymond Reese (51), was also arrested that day. According to reports, he was a tenant at the property located in the 5700 block Northwest 48th Court.  

Although police have yet to provide details about the motive for the crime, neighbors said that Reese had been a disturbed tenant following his expulsion from the home worth $515,000 

“There was a tenant who wasn’t happy and was expelled. He believed that the realtor who showed the home was its owner, so he was ambushed. Donna Smith from the local area said she saw her sitting in her vehicle.

Trost lived with her three-year old daughter in Parkland 48 miles north-east of Miami as a married mom. She was an interior designer before she started her eight-year-old property development business.

At 12.30pm, paramedics raced onto the property’s driveway to save three bedrooms. The mother-of-1 was saved by paramedics on Thursday. 

Officers arrived to find a car with one female passenger in the driver’s chair, suffering multiple gunshot wounds. According to Coral Springs police, she died from her injuries despite immediate medical care. 

Reese was quickly arrested by police in Boca Raton that same day. 

The police report stated that there are not additional suspects or a threat to community.

Trost, prior to hearing death, had spoken out about America’s gun culture on social media following the 2018 Parkland shooting, in which 17 people were killed and 17 other injured.  

“Australia experienced one incident. One. They fixed it. UK had ONE incident. It was fixed. How? You have to take action. Use their brains. Trost posted on Facebook, “It wasn’t difficult for either country find a working and successful solution.”

“Here, in the US, we seem stop at ‘thoughts & prayers. It doesn’t seem right to me, she said.

A friend said, “Gotta Move.” It won’t change.

Trost said, “You are correct.”

Investigative work continues into the incident. Reese is not currently being tried.

According to arrest records Reese has been booked at the Main Detention Center, West Palm Beach as of Friday evening. Reese remains in custody without bond.
