Just as the singer famously bought multiple properties around his country home, Miss Blanchett, 52, has paid close to £1.5million for a farmhouse in almost 100 acres near the home she has occupied for more than five years.
Also, she obtained planning permission for the demolition of an old oast and stable on her property and creation of an art gallery and studio with a circular meditation area.
The village of “Blanchettville”, near Crowborough, is at the edges of the Sussex Weald.
The seven-bedroom Victorian home is just a few steps from the farmhouse, which was constructed in the historical style of a Wealden Hall house.
The house has timber framing and an oak staircase and front door, as well as a brick-floored hallway and stone fireplace.
“Blanchettville” is located near Crowborough in the Sussex Weald.
There is an Aga, which can be found in the kitchen. It has a stable door that leads outside and a galleried landing. Two of the three bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms. The terrace offers sweeping views over the countryside.
For Miss Blanchett’s solitude, it was also important that the farmhouse had close to 100 acres pasture and woods. It is only accessible by a long access road, which has been extended with new gates at half of its descent.
The actress has not yet made any plans regarding the future of the farmland. However, it was used in the past for cattle breeding and commercial use. Bull pens, stables as well as a tack room and barns are some of the outbuildings.
There are a number of ponds and hedges for diverting walks – and even a pair of Second World War pillboxes.
The only snag, if Miss Blanchett wanted friends and relatives to stay in the new house, is that there is an agricultural occupancy restriction on the property – meaning only those farming the land are allowed to live there.

There may be resistance to further plans. A proposal by another parishioner to make a barn into an apartment was rejected by the council, who stated that this would be ‘unacceptable in the country’.
Miss Blanchett resides in the mansion she shares with Andrew Upton (55), an Australian playwright, and her four children.
They paid over £3million for the house, and soon installed a state-of-the-art Stovax woodburner. They raise chickens and pigs as well, and also grow vegetables and herbs.
The Oscar winning actress for Blue Jasmine and The Aviator told her friends she “loved” the area.
