Chrissy Teigen announced that she is now 100-days sober. This comes after she was accused in the past of cyberbullying multiple celebrities with cruel tweets, including one in which she encouraged a then-teenager Courtney Stodden suicide.
Teigen, 35 years old, spoke about her sobriety in her TV interview. Teigen was speaking to viewers for the first time since the scandal broke in May. Teigen’s tweets had been resurfaced online and triggered a swift backlash that saw her cookware brand dropped by many big-name brands.
The mother-of-2 revealed to Hoda Kotb on Today that she has been sober for two months. She also said that her decision not to drink has helped her ‘do all the work’ necessary to be a better person.
According to the cookbook author, “I’m actually a hundred-days sober today and it’s so exciting,” “I feel so good, and I feel very clear-headed.

Change: Chrissy Teigen revealed that she is now 100 days sober after quitting alcohol for weeks following furious backlash from her cyberbullying tweets.

Backlash: In May this year, it was revealed Teigen, 35, had sent a torrent of cruel tweets and messages to Courtney Stodden (16 years old) asking her to ‘go to bed forever’.
“I feel like I’ve done my work and I hope these people will forgive me and be able accept the fact that they’ve seen me as better.
Teigen spoke out about the scandal and said that she was a stronger person and a better person because of it.
She said, “I think you learn so many in the moments when you lose so much, it all, your whole world is kinda turned upside down,”
It was a moment of realization for me: “Wow, I need help to improve, how can I grow from this, and how can I learn from it.”
‘There’s that old cliché like I’m glad it happened, but truly it made me a stronger person, a better person.’
Teigen was first criticized for cyberbullying in May this year. She had posted a series of tweets in 2011 telling Stodden, then 16, to ‘go to bed forever’.
Stodden, who identifies himself as non-binary, spoke out about the bullying they faced by Teigen. He said that the tweets were only a part of the story and that Teigen would also ‘privately direct DM me and tell I to kill myself’.
Stodden claimed that they were subject to bullying in public and private from Teigen. Teigen tweeted at Stodden in 2011: ‘My Friday Fantasy: You. dirt nap. mmmmmm, baby’, followed closely by: ‘go. To sleep. You will never wake up again.
Old tweets from 2013 also resurfaced in which Teigen described then-nine-year-old Oscar nominee Quvenzhané Wallis as ‘cocky’ and called Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham, then 21, a ‘wh***’.
Teigen also posted an insensitive tweet about Lindsay Lohan. A January 2011 tweet read: “Lindsay adds some more slits on her wrists when emma stones’
Teigen was fired by several companies amid the backlash. Safely, her cleaning brand that Kris Jenner co-founded with Kris Jenner, dropped Teigen. Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s and Target also dropped her cookware brand.
She was also pulled from Netflix’s Never Have I Ever.
