A tired mother was denied the chance to take a relaxing bath after her two golden retrievers, who were clingy, barged in. One even drank the water.

Ursula Aitchison (33), escaped to London for a night in peace on October 20, when her hopes of indulgent pampering were ruined by Huxley, two-year old, and Hugo, seven-year-old Hugo.

Footage shows Hugo and Huxley staring at each other as they stand at the edge the tub, watching Ursula. Huxley is seen frantically licking the water behind Ursula’s shoulder while Hugo stares at her.

Shocked Ursula can clearly be seen widening her eye as she looks down at the camera in dismay.

Huxley appears to briefly register the question, and he stops drinking from the water. Ursula stares at Huxley for a moment, before he resumes the licking.

After a few more slurps of water, Huxley finally stops and stares at Hugo, his bathing partner.

The two dogs appear unmoved by the camera, staring at Ursula for a few seconds before Huxley leans forward, licks his owner and then rests his paw on her shoulder.

Ursula laughs at her young dogs and says, “Huxley, you’re ridiculous.” You are ridiculous.

The question stops Huxley briefly as he sits up and stares at Ursula alongside Hugo, before returning to drink some more of the bath water

Huxley stops for a moment when the question is asked. He sits up and stares at Ursula with Hugo before returning to the bath to take more of the water.

The mother-of-one revealed that her beloved one-hour baths are constantly interrupted by her dogs, who love to lick her hair after she has washed.

Ursula joked she ‘felt like a tea bag’ in a mug and even ‘part of a human soup’ as Huxley lapped up the water from behind her in the bath inside Park Lane’s Sheraton Grand, a hotel where pets weighing up to 25kg are welcome with an additional fee.

The clip has been viewed over 4.2 million times on Facebook. Users across social media are raving about how funny the pair are.

Ursula, a Chelsea, West London resident, stated that they were both lying on the ground, watching me in the bathtub, but then they began to creep closer and closer.

‘It had been a rush getting to the hotel after my child had finished school. We were also crammed onto the busy tube.

“I just wanted to relax before I go down for a dinner.

“I had nice clean water, but it was contaminated by Huxley. After that, I needed to take a second bath.

“His bath at home is so deep that he can’t get in, but his bath at home was so shallow that he could reach it. But this one was so low that he could reach it.

Huxley will normally lick your hair after you wash it and you get it back up.

It’s truly bizarre. I believe he was waiting for me, but he decided to just have a few drinks instead.

They stayed there for the whole bath. He must have wanted hot water like his own tea. In that situation, I feel as though I was the teabag.

“I like them being needy but I could use some space in my bath.” The drinking is definitely too much.

The mum-of-1 revealed that her beloved one hour baths are often interrupted by her pets, who even love to lick the water off her hair after she has washed it.

Ursula stated that they know I like my space. But, you’ll tell them to leave and then they’ll return a minute later. It doesn’t matter where in the house you are.

“If I go into my bedroom, they’ll follow you there. If I go to the bathroom, they’ll also follow me there.

“If I go outside in the garden they’ll follow and eat with me, and if they’re eating with me they’ll be right under me. I get no personal space.

“I love my baths so I usually stay in for about an hour.

‘Huxley is able to tell when the water’s running. He puts his head under the bath and waits for you.

“He will either lick your hair after it’s wet, or just lay down on the bath and look at you.

“When you get out, the man will lick your legs to dry them. They can both do whatever they like because you don’t have to be strict with them.

Ursula said, when she is at home, the two pooches follow her everywhere and Huxley even knows when the water's running. 'Because it's a free-standing bath he puts his head underneath and he waits for you to get in,' said Ursula

Hugo and Huxley are not the only golden retrievers to have achieved fame for their funny antics.

In May last year, Ursula posted a video of Huxley stubbornly refusing to go home after a walk in the park in Stourbridge, West Midlands.

The video shows him planting himself firmly on the floor and refusing to move when Ursula tried to take the dogs home.

Ursula had created a temporary whack-amole game with carrots and a cardboard box for the couple the month before. This was to pass the time during the coronavirus lockdown.

Huxley’s first fame came in 2019, when he was still just a puppy and tried stopping Ursula’s son Maxx from going to school.
