Colombian 22-year old security guard died after he was hit at point blank range while attempting to rob an armed criminal.
CCTV footage, captured on December 27 in the Colombian city of Cúcuta, shows Miguel Ángel García Naranjo sitting outside, dressed in his guard’s uniform, when an armed man comes up behind him.
To intimidate the guard, an armed man taps his gun barrel into the neck of Mr Naranjo.

Naranjo replies by pushing his assailant aside and leaping out of the chair.
After seeing an armed robber, five women and one man were on the spot with Mr Naranjo.
The robber, identified by police as 25-year-old Raiquet Samuel Machado, of Venezuelan nationality, shoots Mr Naranjo while out of view of the CCTV.
Even though he has suffered a severe gunshot to his abdomen, Naranjo responded in kind and fired several shots at the fledgling Venezuelan robber.
Machado Sánchez runs towards his getaway driver, who comes to pick him up.
Local news reports claim that he fell over and was unable to get onto the bike.
The getaway driver left without Machado Sánchez, who reportedly died in the same place where he fell in the road.
Although he is shot in his abdomen at point blank range, Naranjo shoots at the fledgling gunman killing him as soon as he can reach his getaway car.
Meanwhile, Mr Naranjo was rushed to a local hospital, Medical Duarte, in the city of Cúcuta, but doctors were unable to save his life.
Cúcuta police are currently searching for the Venezuelan gunman’s accomplice.
In a statement, Alejandro Martínez, Secretary of Citizens’ Security from the local government, said: ‘We reject these types of actions, and the Committee for Public Order, alongside the police, will keep working to ensure the security of the people of Cúcuta’.
Machado Sánchez had previously been arrested in May 2019, on suspicion of the January 2019 killing of Jader Leonidas Agudelo.
However, Machado Sánchez was subsequently let loose after authorities failed to press charges against him within the legally stipulated time, according to a report by FM Santander, a local Colombian radio station.
The Colombian city of Cúcuta, which borders Venezuela and is infamous for playing host to narcotrafficking gangs, suffered a 30 percent year-on-year increase in homicides in 2020.
