According to local reports, Cristiano Ronaldo’s two bodyguards in Portugal are under investigation for working illegally for him.
Brothers Sergio and Jorge Ramalheiro, who previously served in an elite special forces unit in Afghanistan, are on unpaid leave from the Portuguese police while they carry out private security for the Manchester United striker.
According to Observador, it’s illegal to work in Portugal while they are on leave.
According to reports, the couple could be charged with providing unauthorised close security protection. If they are found guilty of this offense they will face disciplinary action.
After being seen working in Lisbon for Ronaldo on two separate occasions, they were taken into police custody.

An insider told The Mirror that carrying out private security without a police licence can result in a jail term of up to five years.
Portugal could also prosecute those who hire bodyguards not licensed.
One spokesperson said, “We don’t comment on investigations.”
Ronaldo has not been accused of wrongdoing.
The footballer, 36, who returned to United in August, was seen guarded by the brothers in September shortly after they were hired as he prepared to jet to Switzerland with the squad for a Champions League tie.
One of the twins was also spotted last month at a birthday party organised by Ronaldo’s pregnant girlfriend Georgia Rodriguez for their daughter Alana Martina, four, in Madrid.

The Ramalheiro Brothers worked in Portugal for years as a close protection officer protecting politicians and judges.
Flash, the Portuguese celeb magazine Flash reported that Cristiano had hired the twins as part of a trio of triplets after the pair requested leave to pursue other activities.
Alexandre is believed to still be working as police officer.
Local media were told by an insider that Jorge and Sergio dress very elegantly, and appear normal.
They are able to mix with people, but are quick to act and think at the right time.
Cristiano was met by the security personnel at Manchester Airport. They accompanied him for his Champions League match against Young Boys from Switzerland.
