US Vogue has named Aled Jones’ daughter and trapeze artist husband, the Next Big Thing in Hollywood.

Emilia Jones was born in London and made her stage debut at age eight with Shrek’s star Amanda Holden as her fairy godmother.

Ten years later, Jones is still making waves with the critically-acclaimed role in Indie hit CODA. She was nominated at the Golden Globes for Best Film and Critics Choice Awards. Jones won the Gotham Awards breakthrough performance award.

Not only did the teenager have to master American Sign Language (ASL) and an American accent for the role, she also had to skipper a fishing boat — and take singing lessons. After her hard work paid off, she was awarded the Verified Hollywood Music in Media Award (Best Onscreen Performance).

Vogue has hailed the actress as  ‘2022’s Breakout Star to Watch’. Her extraordinary talents are not limited to her mother. Aled Jones is her father, who was a talented boy soprano, later a concert performer and TV presenter.

The teenager's incredible talents run in the family; her father happens to be Aled Jones, who found fame as a gifted boy soprano and later as a TV presenter, recording artist and concert performer

Her father, Aled Jones (a talented TV host, record artist, and concert performer) is the one who inherited her extraordinary talents.

Aled, a 16-year-old boy soprano from Llandegfan in Anglesey ended his four year career as a boy singer. He sold six million records during that time and also sang for Charles and Diana at the Vatican.

He was then offered a position at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, and by age 25, he had returned to the stage in Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. He felt that there was something missing, even though he received standing ovations almost every night.

It was then he met his wife Claire, and the two  married in 2001, welcoming two children: Emilia and Lucas.

At eighteen, her daughter started acting when she was given small parts in the movies One Day and Pirates of the Caribbean.

In 2011, Emilia made her theatrical debut after playing the princess Young Fiona in the original cast of Shrek the Musical in London (pictured, while performing on This Morning)

Emilia was first seen on stage in 2011, playing the part of Young Fiona the Princess in Shrek the Musical’s original London cast.

A decade on, the teenager won a breakout role in Netflix fantasy series Locke and Key, where she often stars in racy-scenes with her co-stars

Ten years later, she was a star in the Netflix fantasy series Locke and Key. She often appears in sexual scenes with her costars.

Later, she was praised for her tiny performance on an episode of Doctor Who.

Jones was praised by the Boston Standard for his ‘carr.[ying]Her scenes are portrayed with “really good salesmanship” and she does not seem to be nervous.[ing]Merry’s mix of knowledge, naivety and childlike fear was praised by Zap2It, who also hailed Jones’ performance as being “spot on.”

Emilia, who was raised by her dad and never thought of a career singing, told Baz Bamigmoye from the DailyMail that she always loved acting.

She said, “My mom is very shy. But I’m sure she wouldn’t give up on anything.” When she was young, she participated in circuses. She did the trapeze — she had to be strong to do that.

She is now the star of a Hollywood film Coda, giving a performance that will put her into the thick of the upcoming awards season competition

Now she is the star of Coda in Hollywood, a film that showcases her performance. This will place her at the forefront of this year’s awards season.

The teenager said she always dreamed of following her father into showbusiness (pictured as a toddler)

She stated as a teenager that her dream was to become a showbiz star like her father (pictured as a baby).

“And my father worked since an early age. That is what we have in common.

The same year she made her theatrical debut after playing the princess Young Fiona in the original cast of Shrek the Musical in London.

At the time her father was blown away by her performance, saying: ‘She’s a little rocket. She’s not scared of anything.

‘‘It’s what she wants to do, who am I to stop her? I just worry because I don’t want her to get a job – or not get a job – because of me.’

Later, she would appear in Rebecca Lenkiewicz’s stage production of Henry James’s The Turn of the Screw.

In December 2018, she landed her big break when it was announced that she was cast as Kinsey Locke, one of the main characters in the Netflix fantasy drama series Locke & Key.

Because she was able to portray two different versions of Kinsey, she found herself attracted to it: Kinsey before she removed her fear and Kinsey afterwards.

In an interview, she stated that this was the most memorable shoot of her career. They are amazing and they make me adore them.

Her acting career began when she was just eight-years-old as she won small parts in the film One Day and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (pictured with her parents and her brother Lucas)

When she was eight years old, her acting career started. She won parts in the movie One Day.

Last year, she starred in the Apple TV+ comedy-drama film CODA as Ruby Rossi, the only hearing member of a deaf family who dreams of going to Berkley.

Emilia, who was auditioning for the job, performed Fleetwood Mac’s soft ballad Landslide with her guitar accompaniment.

In order to play the part, Jones spent nine months during the shooting of Locke & Key learning sign language extensively, while also learning how to operate a professional fishing trawler.

Starring alongside Oscar winner Marlee Matlin, who plays her mother — the fim has already garnered her acclaim in the US ahead of debuting here next week.

The first time Emilia bonded with her screen family — Matlin as mother Jackie; Troy Kotsur, playing father Frank and Daniel Durant as brother Leo — it was on the high seas off the Massachusetts coast.

She explained that the first time she met them was while on a fishing vessel.

Emilia, a passionate animal lover, said that she was disturbed by the whole experience. I would save a fish, but the fishermen who are really good at it would shrug their shoulders and tell us: “That’s all money.”

She starred last year in CODA, an Apple TV+ comedy-drama movie about Ruby Rossi. Ruby Rossi is the only member of her family that can hear and dreams of attending Berklee.

She was soon able to locate her sea legs and began grading cod with ease.

She was taught by the crew to inspect lobsters for any females carrying eggs. The crew threw them back in the briny to make her smile.

Emilia didn’t know much about Emilia’s singing skills. Ruby, a child of the family, joins the school chorus club to take a break from her parents.

Meanwhile the 19-year-old often shares snaps with her 500k Instagram followers while she holidays in exotic locations

At 19, she often posts snaps to her 500k Instagram fans, even though she is on holiday in exotic locales.

And while Jones can sing — ‘I sang in Shrek,’ she said; ‘I’m singing around the house, and I was in the choir at school’, she’d never had any training. It was scary.

‘I was 17 when this movie was shot. Ruby said that I was nervous at first. She’s not very confident when she sings — she’s confident when she signs. She was a person I could relate to in this regard.

Coda received the Sundance Film Festival’s top prize in January 2021. Judges praised Emilia’s acting, and Coda won the best film award. It was also nominated best film by Sundance Film Festival London.

Baz Bamigboye, the Daily Mail critic, also noted Emilia’s performance. He wrote: “There are many fantastic moments in this picture, but I think the best is Ruby singing Joni Mitchell’s Both Sides Now to a university panel. As she sings, Ruby begins to sign the lyrics for her family who have climbed up onto the balcony to see.

The actress was recently awarded for her performance in Coda with the Verified Hollywood Music in Media Award for Best Onscreen performance, adding she was 'blown away' (pictured)

Recently, Coda was awarded to the actress with Verified Hollywood Media Awards for Best Onscreen Performance. She said she was “blown away” (pictured).

She claimed that her dad had seen the film many times and has been moved to tears each time.

But despite coming from ‘a musical household’ — during lockdown, she and her dad (once they were allowed to leave the house) went on drives ‘where we sang together’ — Emilia never considered a career in that field. “My heart was always in the acting.

Coda, according to it, realized that she was capable of doing both. She laughed and said, “I had never thought that I would be able to sing in a film.”

She sang with her dad without any interference. “He let it go to the teachers. He was happy that I had the opportunity to sing — and he was happy that I was getting more confident.’

Recently, she began filming the movie adaptation of Kristen Roupenian’s short story Cat Person. It went viral after it was published by The New Yorker on December 2017.

Emilia will play Margo, a 20-year-old student — ‘a very strong, confident girl…she’s pretty and she knows it’ — who becomes involved with an older man, Robert (played by Nicholas Braun — cousin Greg from Succession).

She said that ‘Cat Person touches upon the gray area of consent’ and added: “Everybody has a Cat Person Story.”

She said, “It’s unlike anything I have done before.” ‘I think it’s exciting because as you grow from a kid, suddenly the roles get a little bit bigger and they’re more interesting — and more challenging.’
