Freda Walker, 86 years old was murdered by police. Police say CCTV captured potential ‘crucial witnesses’ and that this may be the case of the killer.
Freda, her husband Ken, 88, were discovered at Langwith Junction in Derbys. by a neighbor on Saturday morning.
On the spot, she was declared dead, and Mr Walker, who is a former Bolsover District Council chairman, remains critically ill in hospital.
In an effort to find the culprit, detectives searched CCTV cameras and conducted house-to-house inquiries in an attempt to track down the suspects.
Derbyshire Police asked for any person who saw the area Friday night to get in touch as an urgent matter.

Now, detectives are able to identify CCTV cameras and other people that they feel could be of assistance in hunting down the murderer

The officers have conducted house-to-house inquiries. Any footage may be used to support the case.
CCTV footage was used by the police to identify potential witnesses.
Dave Kirby, Assistant Chief Constable said that a team has been working around the clock since Saturday to bring to justice those who committed this horrible crime.
A collection of hours of CCTV footage was downloaded, and the videos are currently being viewed. These images show that Station Road is populated by people who drive or walk along it between 4:30 and 9 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
“If you suspect that you lived in this street at the time, you should immediately contact police so they can capture all information and ensure you’re not overlooked.

Emergency crews and police have been on the scene since days to try and find clues.

The couple left floral tributes outside their home. It is believed that the house was burgled.

Also, detectives believe that they are looking into whether there was another crime earlier this month.
Officers are also trying to figure out when Freda last spoke to Freda, and they believe Freda last spoke to Freda on Friday at 6.40pm.
ACC Kirby stated: “We know Freda visited a neighbour late in the afternoon, and she left at 4.55pm.
She walked back home to her family and was finally contacted at 6.40pm.
“She was discovered dead on the morning of the following day, and that was her next sighting outside her home.
“Officers must speak with anyone who might have spoken or seen Freda and Ken on Friday night.”
