May 6th: A gunman shot three Times Square children, including a 4-year-old girl
Trois innocent victims, including a girl aged four, were shot in Times Square during daylight. It was a horrifying shooting that sent panicked tourists running.
Officers from the NYPD responded at 4.55 p.m. to the incident near West 44th Street/Seventh Avenue, Manhattan. This is in the middle of Times Square.
According to police, the girl sustained injuries in her leg; a 24-year old woman was injured in her thigh, while a 44 year-old woman received a bullet in her foot. All of them survived.
After three victims were shot and caught in crossfire, police officers arrive on the Times Square scene on May 8th.

Dermot Shea, NYPD Commissioner, stated that none of the victims are related to or know each other and that they were innocent bystanders who were hit by stray shots after a man started shooting wild and got into an argument.
Shea explained that while the adult was younger, she was from Rhode Island and her older sister was New Jersey. Shea also said that she was looking for toys in Brooklyn with her mother.
Shea stated that a tourist from Rhode Island was planning to go to Manhattan to see the Statue of Liberty. However, when the ferry stopped, she decided to instead visit Times Square.
Farrakhan Muhammad (31), was charged with attempted murder, multiple counts of assault reckless endangerment, criminal use of firearms, and attempted murder.
The bail was refused and the next hearing is scheduled for November 15.
June 17: Two children escape death in shooting outside Bronx bodega
Christian, a Bronx sibling, was nearly shot to death by a gunman who fired at an alleged gang leader and he tripped on the children while escaping.
Amazingly, the two children weren’t struck by lightning but were in direct danger.
The sun was still out, and parents could see in horror as their apartment on the first floor looked down at the children walking along the streets, hand in hand, to buy bread from the shop.
This apartment is only a few feet away from the 170th Street Subway Station and right next to a park. The sidewalk was packed Thursday night, with residents and local families filling it.
Mia was walking with her brother from the store to their home. Mia tried her best to save her brother and get the two of them on their feet again. He continued shooting, despite the fact that they were in crossfire. The gunman fled then on a moped
Michael Lopez, who was charged by police with attempted murder following the June 17th pedestrian shooting is taken from the 44th Precinct.
The parents were watching when the gunman started running towards the kids on Sheridan Avenue, pointing at his target Hassan Wright, who was also behind the children. Hassan ran and attempted to flee but instead, he barreled towards his brother and sister and knocked them to the floor.
The shooter was standing over Wright and firing six rounds at home. His feet were trapping the children below.
The shooter continued firing in a shocking disregard for the lives of the children, injuring Wright in his legs and back, before running. Wright was able to survive and is now in hospital.
Michael Lopez (27), was taken into custody and accused of attempted murder. Records show that he is being held indefinitely on Riker’s Island.
July 31, 2011: Gunmen kill 10 wild Queens, before they flee on mopeds
Two men approached 10 people on Queens’ street, fired 40 shots and injures 10. Before fleeing on their mopeds, the two attackers fled.
Police said that the shooters were located in North Corona and targeted Trinitarios members. However, they opened fire on pedestrians near a barbershop as well as at a party for a child in a restaurant.

These images depict a gunman and his accomplices, who helped him escape from the mopeds on the night of shooting
They ranged in age from 19 to 72. Among them was a 72 year-old woman, and a man aged 70. Both were also shot in the leg. There were seven more men and one woman. Police say that all three were treated for non-life-threatening injuries and taken to the hospital.
Police said that three of the men were their intended targets.
James Essig of the NYPD Chief Of Detectives stated that the victim with most serious injuries sustained a gunshot to his stomach.
He stated that the males extended their arms straight away and fired in the direction of the group just in front the barber shop. “This was, according to my best description, a brazen and coordinated attack.
For information that leads to arrests, the NYPD and Republican candidate for mayor Curtis Sliwa offer a $30,000 reward.
August 14th: Manhattan bank hacked by a Hatchet-wielding Assassin
This shocking footage shows how a man, wielding a hatchet, brutally assaulted a Manhattan customer in a Manhattan bank.
Just before 5.30pm, the random attack took place at a Chase Bank branch on Broadway in New York’s Financial District.
DailyMail.com captured surveillance video that shows the victim at the ATM, in the bank vestibule. The assailant then walks behind him.
The shocking scene in which Queens man Miguel Solorazana (50) was slashed with the hatchet at Chase Bank’s ATM room in Manhattan on Sunday at 5.30pm, can be captured by video. With the hatchet in his hand, the attacker enters the ATM room.
Solorazana is eventually taken into custody. Police say they have the suspect in custody pending charges
You can see the suspect removing a hatchet out of a dark bag, sneaking behind the victim and then slashing him.
The terrified and bloodied victim, who was identified as 50-year-old Queens resident Miguel Solorzana by the New York Daily News, attempts to fend off the crazed attacker.
Solorzana desperately tries to grab the weapon. He becomes more bloody and eventually falls to the ground several times.
Police said that after attacking Solorzana, the assailant proceeds to smash ATM screens and then walks away. But he did not leave the hatchet behind.
Aaron Garcia (37), of Yonkers was taken into custody in connection to the attack. He has been charged with attempted murder as well as assault. The 37-year-old from Yonkers was arrested in the attack and charged with attempted murder and assault. He has pleaded guilty. Next court appearance is November 10.
September 28th: 16 year old boy, shot and killed by his best friend at a Brooklyn gunfight
Cahlil Pennington, a white-hooded teenager in pitkin avenue, was shot and killed by a pursuer.
Surveillance video shows one teenager turning around to fire at another shooter after being wounded in the stomach. This happened during an incident around 1:30pm, according to police.
Cahlil can be seen falling to the ground, tripping over one of his friends after the teen who has the gun shoots behind him.
In the commotion, the bullet missed its intended target and hit Cahlil in the head at the corner of Pitkin and Miller Avenues, according to police and video footage.
Cahlil drops to the ground, trips his friend (shown in blood-soaked hoodie), who drags Cahlil’s limp body around the corner while another teenage in a white jacket rounds the corner, jumping over both of them, according to video.
Cahlil is a Brooklyn student at New Visions AIM Charter High School. He was taken to Brookdale Hospital and declared dead.
Numerous teens ran from the scene. No arrests have been made.
