Police were stunned when a Kent driver drove along a major road with a cracked windscreen and without insurance.
Officers were shocked to discover the vehicle uninsured on the A2 near Cobham around 10pm Sunday evening.
The driver had also taken the number plate from the dashboard and left it inside the car. This was believed to be an attempt to evade speed cameras.
After seizing the car and arresting the driver, officers from Kent’s Roads Policing Unit took pictures of it.
Despite a lot of damage to his windscreen, the driver was speeding along A2 near Cobham in Kent.
Officers took a photograph inside the vehicle to show how blurred the road was.
Kent’s Road Policing Unit posted about the incident and described their car as in an ‘outrageous’ condition.
The first photo, taken from outside, shows that the windscreen has been severely damaged and cracks along its entire width.
The second picture shows the view from the driver’s seat with almost no visibility.
The tweet stated: “Vehicle ceased driving in this bizarre condition on the A2 close to Cobham.
‘Also, not insured. For all offences, seize and report.
One resident responded to the photos by saying: “What was their mind that this was an acceptable condition for driving in?”
Another added: “How did they not crash?” Can’t see nothing through that screen or what’s left of it.’
A third person asked the question: “Good grief. That has to be one of the worst you’ve seen?’
