The Rifles formed from four distinguished infantry Regiments: The Devonshire and Dorset Light Infantry, The Light Infantry, The Royal Gloucestershire and Berkshire Light Infantry and The Royal Green Jackets.
They were formed during the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, making them the biggest infantry regiment of the British Army. They live by the motto “Swift and Bold.”
