Fans of Emily in Paris rejoiced when the new season premiered at Netflix. It featured an attractive, new love interest that kept viewers on their toes. 

The last season of the comedy drama saw smouldering chef Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) shoot to fame after becoming entangled in a love triangle with protagonist Emily (Lily Collins). 

But now, viewers have turned their attention to a new character, Alfie, played by British actor Lucien Laviscount, who has starred in various soaps including Coronation Street and Waterloo Road. 

Emily is a charming and charming expat banker that Emily meets at a French class. The actor has made viewers ‘team Alfie,’ calling him’stunning and declaring them to be ‘team Alfie.

The last season of the show ended with Emily confessing her love for Gabriel, who was due to move to Normandy to open his own restaurant and had seemingly broken up with girlfriend Camille (Camille Razat).

However after revealing that he was actually planning on staying in Paris and had not broken up with his long-term girlfriend, and Emily decides to end the relationship as not to risk her friendship with Camille. 

At the beginning of the series, Emily is adjusting more to life in Paris and – in a bid to dampen any sexual tension with Gabriel – starts dating Alfie after meeting in a language class.     

Madeline, Emily’s Chicago boss is determined to see Emily go back to America by the end the season. Alfie wants to live in London but would prefer to stay there for work. 

After discovering she still has feelings for Gabriel, the series ends on a cliff hanger – meaning fans will have to wait for season three to discover whether Lucien will be returning to their screens.

Lucien, 29, is known for his role as Jake Briggs in Grange Hill in 2007, later playing Ben Richardson in Coronation Street in 2009 and featuring in celebrity Big Brother in 2011.

Although it is not clear if Lucien is currently in an actual relationship, he made headlines after being seen flirting with Jesy Nelson (30), during a London night. 

Addressing his status as the series’ latest hunky love interest in an interview with Time Magazine, Lucien said that while he’s not bothered by giving Gabriel a run for his money – a few crushes would be ‘lovely’. 

‘I just hope I’ve done a good job, more than anything. As for crushes, that’d be lovely- if not, I’ll be fine. I’ll survive, I’ll survive’, he said.
