After their win over San Marino, England has qualified to host the 2022 World Cup.

Alexander-Arnold should have a great night in England. With a few assists, he showed his talent and will return home knowing that he was a part of the success.
Southgate’s team had to wait for their last win in the campaign, despite beating Albania 5-0 at Wembley. Poland kept within three points of Andorra (4-1).
But the victory over San Marino put England on an unassailable tally of 26 points and gives the Three Lions another shot at tournament victory after losing the Euro 2020 final at Wembley against Italy in the summer.
For the World Cup, the Premier League will be in pause between November 18 and Boxing Day 2013.
The Premier League 2022-23 season was given a short break last Thursday to make way for Qatar tournament. It runs from November 21 through December 18.
The Premier League will suspend on November 14, and then resume on Boxing Day. The league’s final game is scheduled for May 28.
England was in Russia’s last World Cup. They reached the semi-finals, and were knocked out by Croatia after extra time. It was an incredible run for England.
Southgate, England manager is on verge of signing a contract extension that will allow him to continue as the Three Lions’ boss.
Southgate’s current deal expires after the World Cup but there is a will from both parties to extend that to until Euro 2024.
According to sources, there’s a principle agreement with the expectation that things will move fast once England has qualified for World Cup. FA refused to comment.
England made it to Russia in the semi-finals of the World Cup last year.
Southgate is said to be nearing the completion of a new extension contract with England
Southgate currently earns £3million a year, but he can expect sharp pay rise taking him beyond the £5m mark if bonuses are reached.
This salary would bring the Englishman within reach of Fabio Capello’s five-year tenure as the Three Lions’ manager. The Italian earned £6million a year.
England has one last game in their World Cup qualification group. It is against San Marino minnows on Monday night.
