After a row with Wetherspoons workers over her theft of chicken dinner, 22-year old estate agent was thrown into a gin bottle. She was not sent to jail.

After’recklessly’ glancing at a fellow pub-goer, an estate agent was fired from her job. She had been eating from another table.

Hollie Crutchley (22 years old) threw a glass of gin at the woman after she demanded Crutchley to pay for a basket full of chicken that she had taken from a nearby restaurant. 

The victim required six stitches after the attack at the Wheatsheaf pub, owned by Wetherspoons, in Cheadle.

Crutchley, a senior negotiator for Connells Estate Agents in Litchfield was sentenced after admitting to wounding.

Her father said that his daughter did not steal the dinner and now says that his daughter has ruined her career.

According to him, the Sun Online said that the food was delivered to an incorrect table and that there was no scuffle.

“She has been working in the same field since leaving school, and her employers have supported her up to today.

She said, “She is sorry for the things that happened. It has affected her mentally and she has lost all her career opportunities because of it.” 

Prosecutor Rachel Pennington told  Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court that Crutchley was in the Wheatsheaf at 9.30pm on August 14 last year when the incident took place. 

She said that Crutchley, another customer, and Crutchley were in the pub when Crutchley ate a basket of chicken.

Crutchley should be paying for the food because of the suggestion of a woman who worked in the pub, but who was on socialising and off duty at the time.

Miss Pennington said, “Does the defendant want to go?”

“She grabbed a drink and threw it at her. Security was called to help. 

The defendant took out a glass of gin and poured it towards the woman. To protect her face, the complainant raised her arm.

“The victim claimed that the glass was being thrown at her.” She raised her arms. She smashed the glass against her left arm.

The victim was taken to hospital and received six stitches for a cut. Crutchley of Springhill Terrace, Rugeley pleaded guilty at the time to wounding.

Saleema Mahmood (mitigating), said that the defendant is of good character. She stated, “The glass was thrown.” It was reckless. The injury was minor.

“She is extremely remorseful.”

Judge David Fletcher said that the judge challenged you was to throw liquid at him. You grabbed a second glass. It was reckless, foolish, dangerous and extremely dangerous.

It is a serious injury. You have expressed your regret. You are of good character.

“You are at work. I hope that the consequences of this will not impact your ability to continue your chosen career.;
