JK Rowling is not joining the Harry Potter special, amid much controversy around her in recent years following she posted about biological sex that led to backlash against the trans community.

Although the views of British author, 56, have been widely criticised, she will appear in archival footage.

She took to Twitter in June 2020 to critique an opinion piece using the term “people who menstruate” instead of “women”. Then she continued her thread on biological sex.

Rowling clarified later that Rowling respects the rights of every trans person to live in a way that is authentic and comfortable for them. She then said that Rowling would march if she was discriminated against because she was trans.

Rowling claimed that her life was shaped by being a female. This is according to the Associated Press. “I don’t believe that it is hateful to state so.

She was again confronted with transphobia in September 2020 when it became clear that Troubled Blood’s villain – Rowling’s pseudonym Robert Galbraith wrote it – is a serial killer male who masquerades as a woman in order to murder his victims.

The comments were made by Harry Potter actors Rupert, Emma, and Daniel. Eddie Redmayne stars in the Fantastic Beasts film she has criticised.

Return to Hogwarts will premiere on HBO Max on January 1, 2019.

Radcliffe, in interview for BBC documentary on the legacy of the franchise, recently said that the film had made an impact on the lives of millions.

He stated that most people discovered the ring when it was first introduced to them. This meant they felt incredibly protective of it.

He then said that Harry Potter movies are viewed by many older fans.

According to him, ‘people who are feeling really bad about themselves and are hungry are great because it just brings them back to warmth and comfort.’

Radcliffe said, “That’s so beautiful to me. It’s the kind of real-world impact a film has on someone’s lives. That is incredible.
