Kabul’s largest military hospital was rocked by at most two explosions.

Qari Saeed Khosty, spokesperson for the Interior Ministry, stated that security forces were deployed to the area and there was no information on casualties.

Residents shared photographs showing smoke rising from the blasts area near the Wazir Akbar Khan area of central Kabul.

These blasts are the latest in a growing number of attacks and deaths since the Taliban won over the previous Western-backed government. They claim that they have restored security to Afghanistan following decades of war.

Islamic State, which has attacked mosques and other targets in a series since the Taliban took over Kabul in August, mounted an elaborate attack on the 400-bed hospital, killing more than 30 people.
A hospital worker, who managed escape, reported hearing a loud explosion and gunfire. He said that a second, much larger explosion occurred ten minutes later.
He said it was unclear if the blasts or the gunfire were within the sprawling hospital complex, which is the largest military facility in Afghanistan.
