A fast food addict who splashed out £800 per month on takeaways says she’s excited to flaunt her 10st weight loss on her first holiday in years – thanks to a gastric bypass.

Carlie Line, 37, from London, admitted she guzzled her through around £10,000-worth of takeaways a year, tipping the scales at a whopping 22st 3lbs.

She would gorge on a large pizza, side of garlic bread and dessert or a curry five nights of the week, and while at work Carlie admitted she would hit the biscuit barrel up to ten times a day, scoffing up to five at a time.

Carlie, size 24, stated that she had been overweight since puberty. This has led to severe heartburn.

Carlie stated that doctors suggested a gastric bypass to ease her symptoms.

She was inspired by this recommendation and determined to change her unhealthy habits. She lost 11 lbs and became a slimmer 12.

The picture framer was so concerned about her weight, she had been avoiding going on holiday for six consecutive years because she was afraid of what she would look like in a swimsuit.

Carlie can’t believe she can fit into slinky dresses and will be having skin removal surgery in April 2022.

Carlie, a South Londoner from Balham, stated that she hasn’t worn a shorter skirt since she was 14.

“I wouldn’t get my legs out, I would never go swimming, and I wouldn’t go on holiday if I didn’t want to wear swimming costumes.

“I struggled with anxiety and depression. I wouldn’t go to places I’d never been to before. My sister invited us to a place we had never been to before. I panicked because I wasn’t sure if the chairs would hold my weight.

Now the mother (pictured with daughter Betsy) says going on holiday when she was overweight was ruined because of her size and her struggle to find comfortable attire

Now, the mother (pictured with Betsy) claims that going on holiday while she was overweight was disastrous because of her weight and inability to find comfortable clothing.

Pictured here with her partner Leon Sinclair, 37, Betsy says she has spent all the money she saved on takeaways on new clothes to fit her shrinking frame

“My doctor suggested that I have a gastric bypass to relieve my heartburn. I could get heartburn by drinking just one glass of water.

“I didn’t eat breakfast until I got my medication. Then, by lunchtime, I would eat everything because it was starving.

“I can’t believe how big I will look after I have my skin removed. I can’t wait until I can go bikini shop. It is something I am looking forward to.

“When we moved to Crete, my feet were too big for anything else. I had to live in Crocs.

Carlie, a food lover, would skip breakfast to eat fatty convenience foods throughout the day.

Carlie says she would snack on biscuits between six and ten times a day and have four or five at a time before changing her diet to lose weight

Carlie said she would snack on biscuits six to ten times per day and consume four to five at a stretch before changing her diet in order lose weight.

Carlie said that he wouldn’t eat breakfast and then at lunch he’d have everything – a bacon sandwich with six bacon slices, butter, salt, crisps, and a yogurt.

“If I lived near a cafe, I would order a fry-up. I would then be exhausted at dinner because of my weight, so I would order take-out.

‘I’d have Chinese, chips, pizza, Indian. I would have a large pizza with garlic bread and cookie dough, and that I would do for four to five nights per week.

“At work, my size would make me so tired that I wouldn’t be able to work anymore. I’d sit down and eat biscuits, fibre bars, and grapes.

Now she has shed the stones, Carlie is planning skin removal surgery, and says she 'can't wait' to see what size she will be once the loose skin is gone

Carlie is now planning skin removal surgery after she has removed the stones. She said she ‘can’t WAIT’ to see her size once the loose skin is gone.

Carlie is due to have excess skin removed to complete her new look in April 2022, before the family goes on holiday to Turkey, where she plans to show off her new figure

Carlie will need to have excess skin removed so that she can complete her new look in April 2022. This is before her family goes on holiday to Turkey.

Carlie's weight-loss surgery means her stomach has shrunk down to the size of an egg, so she has to be careful not to eat too much or too quickly - but it means she eats more mindfully

Carlie has lost weight and her stomach is now the size of an egg. This means that she must be more careful about how much she eats, but it also means that she eats more mindfully.

“I would snack on biscuits between six to ten times per day and have four to five at a given time. I spent around £200 per week on takeaways and another £50 per week on the food shop.’

Carlie believes that since November 2020’s weight loss surgery, she has been given a new lease in life.

Instead of feeling sluggish all day, she can now be more active with Betsy, her 6-year-old daughter, and Leon Sinclair, her 37-year old partner.

Carlie will need to have any excess skin removed in order to complete her new appearance in April 2022. The family is looking forward for their first family holiday next summer, where Carlie plans on wearing a bikini again.

Carlie said: ‘I’m way more confident now. After I have my skin removed, we’re heading to Turkey in August. I’m still waiting to see how big I will be before I buy bikinis.

Carlie hasn't been on holiday for six years. She went to Crete in 2016, and ended up wearing a long dress the whole time or a towel, so she was completely covered

Carlie hasn’t been on holiday for six years. In 2016, Carlie went to Crete and ended up wearing either a long dress or a towel throughout the trip.

Despite her massive weight loss, Carlie won't go bikini shopping until after her skin removal surgery to make sure she buys the right size

Carlie has lost a lot of weight, but she won’t shop for bikinis until after her skin surgery. This is to ensure that she purchases the right size.

“I haven’t been on vacation in six years. I wore a long, covered-up dress to Crete in 2016, or a towel.

“Now I have more energy and can go out and do other things. Betsy and me have a Mum and Daughter Day on Saturdays. We used to play together in the livingroom, but now we love to go outside all the times.

She keeps telling everyone “Mummy is shrinking”, which is very funny.

Unfortunately, the mum-of-one hasn’t been able to reap the benefits of having an extra £800 in the bank just yet as ever-shrinking frame means she’s forced to regularly update her wardrobe.

Carlie said that she is unable to spend the spare money because her body is constantly changing. So, I have to buy new clothes. Knickers. Bras. But eventually I will be able. I do miss takeaways, but we treat ourself once a week.

“I make a meal from the starters, so instead of having a meal, I have one onion bhaji and one samosa. I also have some poppadoms and a spoonful korma. All my meals are served on side plates.

Carlie lost 10 stone on her weight loss journey

Carlie had gastric bypass surgery and had to drastically change her diet in order lose weight.

Carlie doesn’t normally eat breakfast.

LUNCH BEFORE

Bacon sandwich with six slices bacon, packet crisps, and a yoghurt

DINNER BEFORE

A large pizza, garlic bread, and cookie dough

SNACKS BEFORE

Carlie would eat four to five biscuits per day between six and ten, grapes, a fibre bar, and four cans diet coke.

BREAKFAST NOW

One slice of French toast with blueberries or strawberries

LUNCH NOW

One sandwich thin, one slice of ham and one slice of cucumber

SNACKS NOW

Grapes and a fibre-bar

“There’s a Caribbean across the street, so if Leon gets jerk poultry, I get a redpea soup which would be unheard of before.”

Carlie hates being in the kitchen. However, she has started to batch-cook healthy chillis and stews instead of ordering junk food.

Carlie said that she now has one slice of French Toast with Blueberries and Strawberries for breakfast. If I don’t finish the toast I eat the fruit.

“I have a fibre bars and grapes for elevenses. For lunch, I have a thin sandwich with some ham & cucumber.

“I batch cook chilli con carne with no rice or stew, and I don’t use potatoes for dinner. I cook more now than I used to. I prefer to use the slow cooker and leave it alone.

Carlie has lost weight and her stomach is now the size of an egg. This means that she must be more careful about how much she eats, but it also means that she eats more mindfully.

Carlie said that her stomach is now the size of an egg. I made Leon and me scrambled eggs and salmon last Christmas. I was so excited, I ate it all in a flash.

‘It sat at top of my stomach, wouldn’t go down, and came up again. This has scared me so I now know to eat small amounts of food, and not too often.

Carlie struggles with weight and also has lipoedema. Lipoedema causes excess fat to build up in the lower body.

This means that Carlie’s upper body may have shrunk but her legs will likely remain the same.

Carlie said, “When I was in school, I was huge.” When I was around 14 years old, my boobs were an “E cup”, which makes you look larger.

Despite not being particularly large at the time, I was always called ‘Big Carlie’ or the big girl.

“As soon as my hormones began making different parts my body fatter, it was puberty. I have been overweight since I was a child and was nearly 2 stone overweight when I was 17.

“My stomach was producing too many acid, it was burning my oesphagus, and I was experiencing heartburn.

“It went on until I was 34, when I was diagnosed as having gastroesophageal acid reflux. Doctors recommended a gastric bypass to help.

“I had to lose weight before I had the bypass. I walked and ate smaller portions, even though I didn’t change my diet or do anything to lose it.
