Here’s the funny moment when a father in law devises a clever way to keep Christmas tree lights from becoming tangled.
Elouise Oakley (41), captured the footage at Newton-le-Willows in Merseyside on December 1.
Last Thursday, she was setting up an artificial Christmas tree 7ft high for Luella, her seven year old daughter.

This is the hilarious moment a father-in-law comes up with a novel way to stop Christmas tree lights getting tangled in Newton-le-Willows, Merseyside
Miss Oakley purchased 1000 lights to hang on her tree. She tried four more times, however, to no avail.
Frustrated, she called her partner John’s parents Brian, 72, and Denise, 70, who she calls her ‘in-laws’, to help her put up the lights.
Elle was eager to have them prepared for Luella’s big day.
Miss Oakley says ‘nearly’ in the video as Denise, an unofficial “in-law”, moves around the tree and puts the lights in place.
Brian can be seen spinning just behind Miss Oakley, the whole set of lights wrapping around his waist. Miss Oakley is laughing in the background.

Miss Oakley (pictured), told MailOnline that she should have ordered less. She also said that it was a little too much.

She was frustrated and called Brian (right), 72-year-old, and Denise (71) 70 to assist her with putting the lights on her tree in time for her daughter’s special day.

MailOnline was told by Miss Oakley that she should have ordered less. She also said that it had been a lot of fun.
“It was typical for Brian to wrap the lights around him.
He is quite a large child, but the video worked great and it made me giggle. At first, I only sent it to my partner so he could show the videos to his children.
“I own a small business so I decided to post the video on Instagram and create a TikTok.
Since then, the video went viral with more than 1.6 million views on TikTok and over 220,000 likes.
One person commented, “My favorite part about older couples is that they have figured out ways to allow him help. He knows she will do what she asks.”
One other said, “Not his first Christmas light dance!”

Miss Oakley stated: “Last week I was setting up our artificial 7ft Christmas Tree and had bought 1000 lights for it.
I tried to attach them four times by myself and they kept getting stuck.
I tried it again the next morning but nothing changed. I felt so sad because I desperately wanted to get the tree up on time for my daughter’s birthday.
“So, I called my in-laws and asked if they could assist me. They will always be there for us if we need them.
“All three people held the lights. We decorated the light with it. The lights were still tangled so we all went round it. My father-in law came up the idea of wrapping them around his head.
