Female police officers have denied infringing on the rights of others After being charged with giving false information to criminal investigation into a male sergeant, the course of justice was taken.
Amanda Aston, from Seaford, East Sussex, is accused of providing false and misleading information to police in respect of Sergeant Matthew Taylor, having allegedly committed an offence against her.
Aston, 42, who served with the Surrey force prior to her arrest, pleaded not guilty to perverting the course of justice between September 3 and September 25, 2017.

She is due to commence her trial on February 27, 2012.
A Maidstone Crown Court Judge in Kent received the following information on Thursday: The ‘core allegation” revolved around the ‘behaviours and relationships’ between Aston, Sgt Taylor.
Aston also denied a charge of fraud by making a false representation to Surrey Police welfare fund, which offers financial help to serving and retired officers and staff, in June 2018.
According to her, she claimed Sgt Taylor’s behavior had caused financial hardship.
Aston was also charged with perverting the course or justice. However, she wasn’t asked to plead.
Aston was released by Judge Julian Smith on bail under the condition that he not contact his alleged victim.
The crown court will hear her again on March 4.
