Ghislaine Maxwell is set to call on a London landlord to provide testimony in her defence during his high-profile grooming case, it was revealed today.
Kevin Moran, 81, pulls the pints at The Nag’s Head pub in London’s exclusive Belgravia district which is located opposite to the home where Maxwell used to live.
Mr Moran is expected to fly to the US to give evidence on Maxwell’s behalf, challenging claims by an accuser that she was taken to the property by her and forced to have sex with paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein in 1994.
MailOnline asked Mr Moran about his role in this case and he refused to answer.
Maxwell’s second day in defence began with a rough start. One witness declined to answer a subpoena and another did not testify, pleading Fifth Amendment. A third witness was also refused.

Mr Moran has run The Nag’s Head for more than 30 years, which is considered one of the capital’s quirkiest and most charming pubs.

While Mr Moran has not confirmed his relationship to Maxwell, it is known that he will be called as a witness by the defense during Maxwell’s trial.
Christian Everdell stated that Maxwell was not a resident at Belgravia until 1997.
Witness claiming to be ‘Kate,’ said Maxwell called her “good girl” after she had given Epstein a spa treatment in London’s Belgravia while she was still a teenager
The British accused Kate claims that Maxwell convinced her, at the age of 17, to perform Epstein massages at her Belgravia residence.
Maxwell asked Maxwell if she had fun and how it went. Is it enjoyable?
The woman now aged 44 took part in the testimony stand at Thurgood Marshall Courthouse, New York, where Maxwell is being tried for allegedly sexually trafficking children.
She testified under the pseudonym Kate that she once received a uniform for school and told Maxwell: “I thought it would fun for Jeffrey to have his tea in this dress.”
Kate, under questioning by the prosecution, claimed that when she visited Palm Beach, Florida she was instructed to wear a schoolgirl dress to “take Jeffrey his tea” by Maxwell. (both images taken in 2005).
Ghislaine Maxill’s second defense day got off to a rough start, Friday
But Everdell said that Mr Moran knew the previous owners of Maxwell’s home and Maxwell, and could verify that she didn’t live there until 1997 when she bought the property.
Everdell stated that the issue was critical, but the pub owner couldn’t be present until Monday.
Maxwell was scheduled to fly in at 11:59 to support Maxwell’s defense case, but Judge Alison Nathan seemed frustrated by his last-ditch attempt to summon a new witness.
Maxwell’s attorneys had stated that they were going to call Eva, Kelly, and Michelle the night before. However, their plans collapsed just minutes before the jury was even assembled.
Laura Menninger, Maxwell’s attorney, told the court that Kelly the witness had “refused” to answer their subpoena issued two-and a half weeks earlier.
In New York, the defence team was able to call ex-Miss Sweden Dr. Eva Andersson, 60, who is now married to hedge fund billionaire Glenn Dubin on Friday.
Glenn, 64 was previously charged with having sex in a relationship with Virginia Roberts as a teenager. He has repeatedly denied these allegations.
Dr Andersson said that she dated Epstein ‘off and on’ from around 1983 to 1990 or 1991, the time he began dating Maxwell.
Defense was able call Dr. Eva Andersson (60), a witness and an ex-girlfriend of Epstein, who is married to Glenn Dubin, a billionaire hedge fund investor.
Andersson was married to Dubin on 1994. However, she said that Epstein remained friendly and they socialized together and flew in his private plane with their three children.
Jane Maxwell, an Maxwell suspect, testified earlier that Eva, a Maxwell teenager, had been involved in sexual parties in Epstein’s Palm Beach, Florida home during the 1990s.
Dubin denied having had any sexual relations with Jane, the accused.
Jeff Pagliuca, Maxwell’s attorney, asked Andersson whether she felt comfortable with Epstein and her relationship with her kids. She said yes.
Epstein is reported to have had an “uncle-like” relationship with their children. Pagliuca then asked Epstein if he was fond of his three kids. One of them was Andersson’s goddaughter.
Laura Menninger, Maxwell’s attorney, told the court that Kelly the witness had “refused” to answer their subpoena issued two-and a half weeks earlier.
Kelly agreed to come to court and was requested by Kelly’s mother to have the US Marshals make Kelly appear before the judge. This is a standard practice for witnesses who fail to respond to a subpoena.
Judge Nathan asked the question: “Why is it that I am hearing this for the first-time now?”
Menninger said, “There has been much going on.” It’s hard work, your honor.
Judge Nathan said to her, “An ineffectual witness is not an insignificant thing.”
Menninger said Maxwell’s “life is at risk” and gave them only one-and-a-half days to prepare their defense.
Kevin Maxwell and Isabel Maxwell are in Manhattan for the sister’s trial at Federal court.
Judge Nathan indicated that defense might make an application to the US Marshals for involvement but that she is not likely to delay the trial.
Christian Everdell was another Maxwell’s lawyer and stated that they were going to contact the Nag’s Head owner in London. It is located across the street from Maxwell’s house.
Everdell stated that Maxwell was a friend of Maxwell’s and Maxwell, and that Maxwell could confirm that Maxwell didn’t reside there before Maxwell bought it in 1997.
Maxwell claims Kate the accuser, also known as Maxwell, is wrongly claiming that Maxwell lured her to her home before then because she wasn’t in that house at the time.
Everdell stated that the issue was critical, but the pub owner couldn’t be present until Monday.
