Ghislaine Maxill’s brother claims that the Duke and Duchess of York were ‘cancelled as members of Royal Family’ on ‘dubious reasons’.

Maxwell, Jeffrey Esptein’s ex-girlfriend, is facing trial in New York for allegedly recruiting children for the disgraced paedophile financier to sexually abuse from 1994 to 2004. The allegations are denied by Maxwell.

Her brother Ian Maxwell today said that he hopes that she will be ‘exonerated at the end of her trial and that that will in some way assist Prince Andrew clear his own name from the charges that he too is facing’.

Speaking to LBC’s Nick Ferrari today, Mr Maxwell was also asked if he had ever discussed his sister’s friendship with the Queen’s son. He said that he had met Prince Andrew on two occasions at his sister’s house, so he didn’t need to discuss it with her.

He said that he knew them to be friends. Now, he finds himself in an awful position, where he was effectively ”cancelled.’ As a Royal Family member. I find this very doubtful.

‘So I hope that clearly my sister will be exonerated at the end of her trial and that that will in some way assist Prince Andrew clear his own name from the charges that he too is facing – although those are civil charges – from a very vocal accuser of both of them – who, I might add, is not testifying at the trial, which tells you all you need to know about her credibility.’

Virginia Giuffre says Jeffrey Epstein gave her out to sex while she was 17, with some of his rich and powerful friends, including Prince Andrew. Ghislaine Maxwell is a close friend of the monarch and has been known to introduce Epstein to her. Andrew was not criminally indicted and has denied all allegations.

Giuffre (right, Prince Andrew) was Epstein’s vocal accuser. But she will not testify at Maxwell’s trial.

Virginia Giuffre has also filed a civil suit against Andrew, but she is not in the criminal case against Maxwell. She described Epstein’s ex-madam as an ‘Mary Poppins figure’ who helped young girls to feel safe as they were lured into the web of paedophiles.

When she was 17, she claims Epstein loaned her out to sex with some of his powerful and wealthy associates including Andrew. Maxwell is a close friend of Epstein.

Ms Giuffre sued the Duke of New York alleging that he had sex in New York with her over 20 years ago, when she was a minor. This civil case is scheduled to be heard by a jury in the latter part of 2022. Andrew has not been charged with a crime and has “unambiguously” denied these allegations.

Epstein, who was being held in Brooklyn on accusations of sextrafficking minors in Florida and New York in 2019, died in Brooklyn prison.

Maxwell is currently in an American jail following her July arrest. Maxwell is currently being held at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Centre, in an apartment measuring 6 x 9 ft. Her brother said that her sister was in “effective isolation”.

According to court documents, Maxwell may contest the allegations against her. She claims that the victims might have “false memories” or been distorted by the accusation.

She faces six charges in the full indictment. These include conspiracy to entice minors into illegal sex activities, enticement for a minor in order to engage, and conspiracy transporting minors with intent.

Maxwell is also charged with transporting a child to commit criminal sexual activities, conspiracy to sex-trafficking, and minor sex trading.

Further, the defendant is accused of lying under oath to conceal her involvement in Epstein’s offenses during another civil case.

All charges are dismissed.

On Monday, opening statements for the trial are scheduled to start. The trial is expected last to be over six weeks.
