Ghislaine Maxwell’s mom-in-law, Ghislaine Maxwell, has died from cancer. Jeffrey Epstein, billionaire financier and billionaire investor was keeping his madam in prison awaiting her Federal sex trafficking case. 

Maxwell’s much-anticipated trial has begun jury selection in Manhattan federal court. Opening statements are set for November 29.

Maxwell pleaded not guilty for eight charges, which include sex trafficking.

Last year, it emerged in court that Maxwell had secretly married Boston technology executive Scott Borgerson, 46, who was spotted by DailyMail.com last Thursday keeping a low profile in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts.

Sara Borgerson was Sara’s mother. She lost her fight with cancer May 3. The Sun reported that this news week. She was 74.

The tabloid was told by unnamed sources that Sara, a former foreign language teacher had been troubled by scandals surrounding her daughter-in law. 

DailyMail.com has reviewed Sara’s online obituary. It shows she died in Marble hill, Missouri. Two of her children are still living, as well as five grandchildren. None of them is named.  

According to her obituary Sara was an educator for all of her life and taught Spanish and French for 48 years. Her master’s degrees in French literature and Spanish were both from Paris’ prestigious Sorbonne University.

The obituary says that Sally was a teacher because it was her life’s calling. She won many awards for her mastery of teaching, including the Missouri Governor’s Award For Excellence in Teaching. However, her most lasting legacy is her passion for helping her students realize their potential.

An anonymous family source claimed that Scott’s relatives were ‘traumatized by Maxwell’ after their relationship with Maxwell. 

According to a relative, ‘They had nothing to do the Ghislaine accusations. They are respected people with links to the Missouri army and police.   

It is unclear what Maxwell and Borgerson are currently doing. According to reports, she told pre-trial services that she was “in the process” of divorce. But her defense team said it was just a lie meant to protect him and his children.

A source told DailyMail.com that Borgerson has been dating a new woman in Manchester-by-the-Sea, where he and Maxwell previously had lived together for a nearly year in the lead-up to her arrest in 2020.

Maxwell (59) will be facing a six-week trial in federal court in New York beginning next Monday. She is accused of sex abuse, procuring young girls for Epstein, and other sex crimes that date back many decades. If convicted of all the charges, Maxwell could spend more than 80 years behind bars.

Epstein, who was awaiting his trial for sex abuse accusations in Manhattan, committed suicide while at 66. 

Maxwell pled guilty to eight counts, including sextrafficking.

Her attorneys argued that the prosecutors are unable to convict Epstein due to his death and seek to “substitute” Maxwell to make someone accountable.

Borgerson, a former US Coast Guard lieutenant-commander, is believed to have met Maxwell in 2013 through speaking engagements connected to ocean preservation. At the time, he was married to Rebecca, his first wife. Both of them have two children. 

After Scott and Rebecca’s divorce was finalized in 2015, he bought a seven-bedroom home in Manchester-by-the-Sea for $2.4million and Maxwell moved in with him.

They had been secretly married for a year and had lived in the hideaway up to December 2019. Maxwell moved into a more private home in New Hampshire where she was arrested by FBI agents in a July 2020 raid.
