On Monday, the excitement reached fever pitch when a trailer was revealed for HBO Max’s upcoming special. It featured teasers featuring many stars.

Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint are among those set to reunite for the Return To Hogwarts special on New Year’s Day, alongside other lead stars from the movie franchise, who were featured in the teasing trailer showing a select few receiving invites.

The clip begins with an image at Hogwarts’ front clock. The clip then moves onto an image of The Daily Prophet, a wizarding newspaper with a headline that reads: ‘Hogwarts welcomes Back Alumni’.

Someone who looks like Emma, dressed up as Hermione Granger with wild hair moves the paper to expose her top. However it is not certain that the mystery star is the brainbox.

Hagrid... is that you? The teaser features a suited Robbie Coltrane, who plays lovable giant Hagrid in the films, sitting in a London coffee shop, where he receives a letter - recognisable in paper and font as penmanship from Hogwarts

Hagrid… who are you, Hagrid? A suitably dressed Robbie Coltrane plays the role as Hagrid, a giant in films. He sits at a London cafe where he is given a letter. Recognizable in penmanship and paper from Hogwarts, it’s easy to see that he has a penmanship.

He's back: Next to receive an invitation is Matthew Lewis, who played Neville Longbottom, as he holds his letter, looking at the Hogwarts coat of armour and looking confused

Strutting her stuff: A hat clad female - seemingly Emma - is seen strutting down a bustling Platform 9 3/4, drawing the teaser to a close

Emma on the platform 9 3/4: The teaser ends with Emma, a hat-clad woman, strutting down the busy Platform 9 3/4.

The teaser shows Robbie Coltrane as Hagrid. In the film, Hagrid is a loving giant who sits in an elegant London cafe where he receives his letter. This letter can easily be identified in penmanship and in paper from Hogwarts.

The front has a address that reads: “Robbie Coltrane The Coffee Shop, Chelsea”.

Matthew Lewis was next to get an invitation.

Mark Williams portrays Mr Weasley. Emma, a hat-clad girl, can be seen strolling down Platform 9 3/4. The teaser draws to a close.

JK Rowling, Harry Potter author, will not join the special amid controversy over her tweets about biological sex that led to backlash from trans communities.

Last month’s news of the reunion was announced when it was revealed that the actors would meet to talk about the magical world and eight films.

Daniel (the titular character) and Rupert (who plays Ron Weasley Part 2) have not been seen together since the premier of Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2 in July 2011.

The stars of Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone will join Chris Columbus (director of Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone), to commemorate the film’s 20th anniversary.

The retrospective special will see cast members from the eight Harry Potter films reunited for the first time on WarnerMedia’s streaming platform, which premieres on New Year’s Day 2022.

HBO Max claims that all the films in the series could be streamed on HBO Max. The project will “tell an enchanting Making-of Story through new, in-depth interviews as well as cast conversations.”

Many talented actors will join the stars, including Helena Bonham Carter and Ralph Fiennes, Tom Felton (Tom Felton), Gary Oldman, Imelda Stanton, Bonnie Wright, Jason Isaacs, Gary Oldman, Gary Oldman, Imelda Staton, Bonnie Wright, Jason Isaacs, Jason Isaacs, among others.
