Prince William and Kate Middleton seem to be following in the footsteps Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s footsteps by releasing photos in their trademark style of walking away from cameras.

The 39-year-old Duke and Duchess shared a behind the scenes shot as they arrived at Clydeside Distillery in Glasgow to attend the Earthshot reception at Cop26.

The couple can be seen in the snap with their backs to camera as they greet guests at the event.

The snap has striking similarities to a series of shots which was often released by the Duke of Sussex, 35, and Duchesss of Sussex, 39. They were seen walking away from camera.

It comes after Prince William and Kate last week drew comparisons to Prince Harry and Meghan by releasing photographs in black and white – and choosing to share their rare moments of public affection.

Nick Ede, a brand expert, predicted that the public would see “many more” of these images from the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge. He added: “This behind-the scenes candid image is one we have associated Meghan and Harrys most recognizable images.

“The image’s rawness allows the viewer to get a sense of the Cambridges. This is something I believe they are doing as they increase their brand visibility and visibility. This is a step that will be embraced by fans around the globe.

“We have seen behind the scenes shots of popstars walking off stage, actors bowing, etc.

“These candid moments are always memorable and have an enduring appeal. They bring a human touch and a human touch. That is what Meghan and Harry have done on many occasions.

“This image creates a strong narrative and I think that we can expect many more images like this in the future.

Last night, the Duke of Cambridge and Duchess were able to share photos via Instagram as they entered the evening event in Glasgow.

The couple can be seen in one of the snaps with their backs to camera as they greet Earthshot prize recipients at the distillery.

It is strikingly similar to a series photos that Harry and Meghan shared during their time together as working royals.

It featured an unpublished wedding photo. They stood with their backs towards the camera and watched the fireworks explode over Frogmore House in Windsor, where they held their evening reception.

Chris Allerton took the photo hours after the couple had tied the knot at St George’s Chapel.

They shared more photos in a similar pose to their @SussexRoyal Instagram account, including one from Archie’s photocall.

Meanwhile they also posted another snap in a near-identical pose as they attended the annual Mountbatten Festival of Music at the Royal Albert Hall in March 2020 during their Megxit tour.

Last week, royal photographer Chris Jackson, who is married to The Duchess of Cambridge’s stylist and close friend Natasha Archer, 34, took to Instagram and explained how he captured a series of behind-the-scene pictures The Earthshot Prize Awards will be held on Sunday at Alexandra Palace in London.

The black and white images were shared to the Duke and Duchess’s social media accounts. They include the moment Kate placed a loving hand on Prince William’s lower back in rare display of public affection.

The Queen requested that royal family members not be shown in public with their loved ones. This has been acknowledged by the couple.

However, photographer previously Glenn Gratton told FEMAIL the Duchess of Sussex is putting her own stamp on royal photos by releasing them in black and white.

It comes after Meghan, 40, and Harry, 37, have plumped for black and white pictures on a number of important occasions, including their official engagement shoot and their first Christmas card.

Another adorable photo from last week’s engagement shows a dapper-dressed Prince William pulling back the curtain while he and Kate smile and laugh together.

The couple also take two beautiful individual photos of themselves, allowing them to reflect before they go on stage to deliver their speeches on the importance to look after the environment for many generations to come.

Chris also took a series of snaps and wrote:Some of you may have noticed I was a little quiet after the Earthshot awards…

‘This was because I had a fantastic opportunity to shoot “behind the scenes” with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the groundbreaking environmental initiative that will do a huge amount to change the narrative over the next few years.’

“It was amazing to see the passion and energy that went into this particular event from close quarters, and performances by talented artists like @teddysphotos and @coldplay.

“I think these photos illustrate the depth of feeling throughout this event.”

However, the choice of the monochrome snaps comes after Prince Harry and Meghan chose two black and white family photos to announce Meghan’s pregnancy with Lilibet, where the royal couple can be seen posing in the grounds of their $14 million Californian mansion in front of a ‘tree of life.’

They also used the same style for their son’s announcement on Instagram in May 2019 and released two additional photos from the photocall at Windsor Castle earlier that day.

Glenn Gratton, a Femail photographer, stated that Meghan is ‘image conscious. She would have carefully considered which photos to release to make the best impression.

He also said that black-and-white is ‘in fashion’ and is a way to help the royal mother distance herself from the high-contrast, filtered images flooding her social media feeds.

Two of the three official engagement photos were released by the Duke and Duchess in black and white.

Harry and Meghan also chose to have black and white photos at their wedding. Later, they selected one of the photos with their backs to camera to be their first Christmas card.

Royal expert Duncan Larcombe said that the Duke and the Duchess were competing in a “petty transatlantic popularity competition” with the Duke & Duchess Of Cambridge.

Duncan spoke to The Sun to say that William and Kate were quite clear that they need more to present themselves as a family, a couple and personalities.
