After eight years of marriage, Helen Skelton divorced Richie Myler, her husband as a rugby player.
Countryfile’s presenter Richie (31), announced her sadness via an Instagram post on Monday. Richie shared how Richie had ‘left his family home’.
Just four months ago, the couple had welcomed their third child.

Helen wrote, “Very sorry to say Richie and me are no longer a pair.” He is now away from the home of his family. “We will do our best to parent our children.”
To her post, she added two broken-hearted emojis.

Richie serves as both a scrumhalf and fullback for Leeds Rhinos. He also plays for England at international levels.
After meeting in 2012 when Richie was only 21 years old, Helen and Richie tied the knot. They went on to welcome three children; Ernie, six, Louis, five, and four-month-old Elsie Kate and share a home together in Leeds.

Helen splits just hours after she posted a blog post about motherhood and her personal struggles.
It said: “Mamas are always full emotions, full love, full anxiety, worries, exhaustion, lack of energy, mum guilt, doubts, pride in her children, and pure joy.
“She feels everything, that’s her beauty, she carries all of it too and she still gets up each day to do it again.
She last shared a photo with her husband in February. The couple was cozy in sweet selfies ahead of Valentine’s Day.

Sharing a photo of England national rugby league team player Richie leaving hospital with the newborn, Helen credited staff of the NHS for their incredible support and ‘legendary’ care.

Before relocating to Leeds in 2018, the family lived in France for two years while Richie played for the Catalans Dragons.

“But it can be difficult to predict what the future holds when your husband is a rugby player and you’re presenting television. You have to be open and willing to accept whatever life gives you.
Myler, along with Eric, a two-month-old son, signed in 2015 for Catalan Dragons.
It was difficult for her to adjust as a mother, leaving behind her grandparents and friends, but she also admitted that it was hard.
She admitted that her life was quite different. “I had just given birth to Ernie, so I expected to be able stay home with him. But it was quite a shock.
“The South of France sounds amazing and glamorous, but we were actually in a remote coastal town close to the Spanish border. We had no internet, there was not a busy street or cafes nearby, and we didn’t have any friends.

‘The French partners of Richie’s team-mates were lovely but I was in a completely different situation to them – I was a working mum with a young baby.’
Helen didn’t hesitate to dive into her new life, becoming friends with neighbours, as well as relying upon them when Louis was born.
Richie was playing in England when Helen realized she was having a baby. Richie called his two French teammates and asked them to help him along with the two French firefighters. Helen later called the experience ‘painful, mortifying – and absolutely amazing.’
