Fort Worth parents furious at the firing of a Hispanic member of their school board demanded that she be removed. She released personal information about white parents who sued them over COVID-19 mandates and also left profanity-laden voicemails to one mother.
Fort Worth Independent School District Racial Equity Committee Norma Garcia Lopez admitted she shared the information via social media. She also abused a mother with a vulgar voicemail, but later defended herself.
Her support was also provided by the school board A news conference was held last Thursday following the alleged receipt of numerous threatening, racist and social media messages calling her to be removed in November.
Garcia-Lopez stated that some people view my actions as doxxing in a statement to Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “It is not doxxing if you reveal someone who files a public motion before a public court that has an effect on public school children.

Norma Garcia Lopez is co-chairperson of Fort Worth’s independent school district’s Racial Equity Committee. Last week, Garcia-Lopez defended herself after she didxxed parents’ personal information online and left a profanity-laced message attacking a mother that sued the school district in relation to a COVID-19 face mask mandate.

Garcia Lopez didxxed her parents, who had filed suit against Fort Worth Independent School District (ISD), claiming that the district’s mask mandate was causing them to send racist and threatening messages. A temporary injunction was obtained in August.
Doxxing refers to the practice of looking for private or identifying information and publishing it online, often with malicious intent.
Garcia Lopez wrote, via her twitter account which is no longer active, “It’s amazing what the White Privilege” power of Tanglewood has against a whole diverse community who cares for the wellbeing of others,” These were their names: Jennifer Treger (with Todd Daniel), Kerrirehmeyer, and Jane Doe. Internet does your thing.
Garcia Lopez then shared the numbers, as well the addresses, of the families as Rehmeyer and Rehmeyer under a post on Facebook. Later, she commented under the same Facebook post that the parents needed to be called after being thanked by someone.

Fort Worth Independent Schools District has yet to take any action against Garcia Lopez

Kerri Rehmeyer (a real estate agent) said that Garcia-Lopez’s death threats so far have been ‘totally unnecessary’, even though she received a vulgar voicemail by her co-chair
Garcia-Lopez also supported her decision to leave Kerri Rehmeyer a voicemail containing swear words, and used a blocked number for her to contact her. This call came after Garcia-Lopez, co-chairperson for the Racial Equity Committee, was named as the parent in a FWISD lawsuit regarding a mandate to use masks.
‘F**** you, you stupid b****. F**** you with your white privilege, not caring about the well-being of others, f*** you,’ Garcia-Lopez said in the voicemail, according to a recording found by Dailymail.com.
‘My message contained harsh language — no threats,’ Garcia-Lopez said in her statement. Some people find the choice of words I used in my message offensive. It’s offensive that these four parents were white and could wield so much power.
Garcia Lopez emphasizes the importance of supporting local mask mandates in a video she made before the school district.
Garcia Lopez stated, “When we advocate for their safety and health, for vaccinations, mask mandates, or for the protection of vaccines, it’s not because we don’t care.”

At Thursday’s Racial Equity meeting, co-chair Garcia-Lopez slammed parents opposing the school district’s COVID-19 mask mandate once more, saying: ‘when did a healthcare crisis become political?’

Max Krochmal (a Texas Christian University history teacher) spoke during a Texas Christian University press conference defending Norma Garcia Lopez on Thursday. His target parents demanded the removal of his colleague
Max Krochmal (a Texas Christian University historian who won an award and is also a member) defended Garcia Lopez during a Thursday news conference.
A resolution was drafted by some of the members of the Racial Equality Committee to ask the school district to affirm its support for Garcia Lopez, co-chair, and leave a thank you note.
In 2016, the Racial Equity Commission was established to suggest practices that would support students of color and their staff, instead of discriminating against them.
But ever since she decided to turn against parents of the school district, Garcia-Lopez has received ‘racist and fat-shaming statements,’ requests to ‘go back to Mexico,’ and ill-wish memos calling her ‘a great candidate for having a stroke.’ In addition to threats and concerns about the safety of her family, Garcia-Lopez has also been subject to death threats.
Garcia Lopez said that they sent a mob of lynch men to assault me. They wanted to intimidate me by making me resign my position as Racial Equity Committee co-chair.
Rehmeyer received Garcia-Lopez’s profanity-laced voicemail. Rehmeyer said she was not involved in Garcia Lopez’s disclosure of Garcia Lopez’s personal information. This has since been disclosed by doxxers. Garcia-Lopez was concerned for her safety and decided to take precautions to avoid danger.
Rehmeyer also refuted Garcia-Lopez’s claims about being attacked and lynched by a mob. She said that all they did was send the media what she had done.
She is also a Wilco Realtors real estate agent and has criticized those who had sent threats to her or other racist messages to the co-chair of the committee, saying that it was ‘totally uncalled for’
Rehmeyer confirmed that her name, address and three family members were found in legal court papers. However, Garcia Lopez was accused of telling the people to ‘go to us’, saying “where I work.”
Rehmeyer stated that he received 17 voicemails from work from one individual, and that other parents were targeted by local businesses with negative online reviews from clients who “don’t pretend to be clients.”
“I knew a client that had said she wanted me to die,” the mother explained.
Rehmeyer added that Rehmeyer believed the criticism had gone too far, and it “has nothing to with equity work.” She claims that it is all to do with Garcia-Lopez’s treatment of her and her parents.
She stated that Garcia-Lopez is not adhering to their standards for students and teachers. She and other families were targeted by Garcia-Lopez sent screenshots to school boards, but they never received anything.
Rehmeyer declared, “It is unacceptable to me they are not holding her accountable.”
Carlos Turcios (a 20-year old former member the Racial Equity Committee of the school district) denounced Garcia Lopez’s failure to bring forth the necessary consequences.
Turcios said that it is unacceptable that ISD does not hold co-chairperson accountable for their actions. Turcios stated that she didxxed the parents as well as financially impacting one of her parents’ businesses. Which type of leadership does FWISD and the committee show their students? Bullying and intimidation are acceptable? You can leave voicemails to your parents harassing them if you disagree with their opinion.
‘Superintendent [Kent]Turcios suggested that Scribner should be fired for creating this bullying environment.
