“Umm, what?” “Umm what?” she demanded.

‘I’m not clean freak or tidy person at all, but there is no way I’d wear my activewear again before washing it…after…each….use. Still love you all…but goodness me.’

Poll

How often have you worn activewear and not washed it?

  • Once 232 votes
  • Twice 38 votes
  • Twice, but only after low intensity training 50 votes
  • Three times or more 57 votes

Her position, which has received hundreds of likes online since Tuesday, quickly split opinion with many admitting to wearing shorts and sports bras again after low intensity sessions.

One woman wrote that she wore double for casual, non-sweaty walks, and calm yin yoga.

A second comment was added: “I wear mine again, if they look clean, and don’t stink.”

Others echoed the disgust of the original poster, saying that they were shocked to see people do this.

“I agree, I was shocked to hear that recycling workout gear was a thing!” One woman wrote.

She said that although she isn’t a big sweater, she doesn’t believe they should be soaked in water to make them smelly and dirty. I wouldn’t re-wear my underwear, so I don’t think I would re-wear activewear. No. Ew. Gross!

Another woman said that she couldn’t bear to wear the same thing twice due to the bacteria and dead skin cells.

She added, “The idea of possibly wearing a sweaty garment again has given my nightmares.”
