Global sex trends have changed dramatically over the last 2 years. There has been a surge in sales of sex-toys and widespread ‘lackof confidence’.

The new sexual trends are a result of lockdowns, social changes and the rules that were made after the Covid 19 pandemic.

The data collected by the sex brand Normal, presented to FEMAIL and Georgia Grace by Lucy Wark (girl boss) and Georgia Grace (sex coach), reveal how Australians feel about intimacy.

Masturbation has increased

Based on the data collected by the women and their teams, there’s been an increase in sales for sex toys. It is not only singles who are buying them.

According to them, 29% spend more time on masturbation or self-satisfaction than any other single person.

They admitted that this was not shocking, despite the fact they were subject to social disengagement and locking downs.

They said that it was surprising that people who are in relationships spend more time pleading for themselves.

“In addition to this, 46% and 50% of singles, as well as 50% of couples, reported that they had included new products into their personal pleasure routines, which is why there has been a spike in sales of sex toys and increased searches for homemade sex toys.

Low level of sexual confidence

Some people admit to using the partner loophole to keep their relationships in lockdown, but many others say they are too scared to go back to the scene after a long period.

They stated that they are worried about learning how to flirt with other people and have lower sexual confidence.

Influence on the relationships

Couples can either flourish in lockdown or fall apart.

Shifting the’situationship’

The majority of people involved in complex relationships stated that they had experienced a change in their relationship status.

Some people believed that acknowledging another person was a part of their intimate lives should be ceased. However, many couples have’made it official’.

There was a noticeable shift in how people feel about relationships, with 50% acknowledging that there had been a change in how they felt.

Lockdown meant that 20 percent felt more attracted to monogamous relationships.

18% said that casual dating was their preferred option, 9 percent prefer ethical non-monogamy while 2 percent have changed their minds.

Finding love is difficult

These women discovered that 30% of singles became frustrated with lockdowns. This was a sign of their desire to be with someone, but not being able to face-to-face.

Additional 21 percent felt frustrated that they couldn’t find someone to connect with, either online or in real life.

One percent said they were in a relationship after meeting someone at lockdown.

Lelo, another popular sexual wellness firm, saw a rise in sales of sex toys.

Surprisingly 20% of their customers didn’t buy for themselves, a partner or family member. They bought gifts to a friend that they felt could benefit from the present.

The most popular product for personal pleasure is one that women between the ages of 18 and 34 have.

The company found that more than 10 percent of individuals who have purchased toys for personal use were buying it the first time.

Talking about toys became less taboo when they shared their choices.

A majority of women stated that they will discuss the toys with intimate partners. More than 50% said they will talk to their friends.
