The ingredients for the delicious brownies shown are butter, dark coca and brown sugar.

First, heat the oven to 180° Celsius. Next, melt the butter and cocoa together in a bowl. Then add the sugar and beat in each egg one at a.

Add the flour to the mixture and then pour it into the lined baking dish.   

Carefully chop rows of the Whittaker’s Peanut Butter & Jelly Block into individual squares, then gently alternate and push the squares into the brownie batter.

Next, add peanut butter and jam to the batter and use a knife to create a swirl design. 

Bake the brownies in the oven for 30 minutes, or until the edges become firm. After that, let them cool on a rack before serving. 

This delicious dessert is easy to make and would be great for special occasions. 

How to make peanut butter jelly brownies

INGREDIENTS

  • 300g butter
  • 3/4 cup dark cocoa
  • 2 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 150g Whittaker’s Peanut Butter & Jelly Block – 3 rows of Jelly and 3 rows of Peanut Butter
  • 1/4 cup Pic’s Smooth Peanut Butter
  • 1/4 cup Boysenberry jelly or jam

METHOD

Preheat oven to 160° Celsius fan bake

Grease and a line to a baking tine. We used a 20cm by 30cm Tin.

Melt the butter with the cocoa. Once the butter has melted, add the brown Sugar.

Mix the eggs one by one.

Mix in the flour, and then pour into the tin.

Cut the rows of Jelly and Peanut Butter into squares. Make sure to keep each half separate.

Alternating between Peanut butter and Jelly, press the squares evenly into the brownie batter, so that each is covered by the brownie batter.

Spread the peanut butter and jelly on top of the batter. Use a small knife to cut through the batter in vertical lines and horizontal lines, creating a swirled, marbled effect.

Bake for 30 minutes or until edges are set.

Once cool, cut into squares

Holly Whittaker, Whittaker’s Chief Operating Officer, said that this is the first time that the company has combined two flavours into one chocolate block.

“Whittaker’s Chocolate Lovers” can enjoy the delicious taste and aroma of the peanut butter- or boysenberry jelly-filled pieces. They can also stack them together to make their peanut butter and jelly sandwich,’ she explained.

“With different flavours at each block’s end, there’s a fun element for those who like both the combinations or one of them alone, or sharing with people who have different tastes.
