I’m A Celebrity 2021: Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly go for a stroll in the Welsh countryside

Declan Donnelly and Ant McPartlin are getting ready for I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! With a wander through the Welsh countryside. 

They took to Instagram and posted a photo of themselves enjoying the sites near Gwrych Castle, North Wales. This was in preparation for Sunday’s launch episode. Frankie Bridge and Richard Madeley will be taking on their first trial. 

They smiled together as Ant donned a black hoodie, joggers and Dec wore matching pants and a black jacket.

The co-hosts also wrote, “Windy Welsh Walk.” What route to take to get to the castle ???’  

Gwrych Castle is said to have been haunted at the castle by spirits and those who were involved in the ‘dark arts’. 

Nick Stoppani, a ghost hunter who believes the castle is haunted, participated in a 2017 paranormal investigation.

He told The Sun: ‘It’s a haunted place. There have been many people who practiced witchcraft there, including those with evil intentions. They used spells and sacrifices.

Challenge: The premiere episode of I’m A Celebrity’s I’m A Celebrity reality series will feature Richard Madeley taking to the Turrets of Terror, while Snoochie Shy walks The Plank. The episode will air Sunday

“One of my fellow colleagues was on the same investigation and had an overwhelming feeling of witches or witchcraft.

“I requested that the spirits make a tap sound in order to tell how many spirits are present. They made three taps.

Nick stated that Richard was the best celebrity to witness paranormal activity, as he would not take the mickey.

Ghost hunters also said certain people can attract spirits like being low-spirited or feeling off-guard. The ghost hunter stated that this year’s celebrity crop will make him happy.

The first episode of the long-awaited return of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! will see Richard take to the Turrets of Terror while Snoochie Shy will walk the plank.

Frankie Bridge and Richard were chosen by the public as the Turrets of Terror competitors. They will have to find the keys to the castle in Wales, which they will use to live in for three weeks.

The ITV’s 2021 series, which starts on Sunday, will have the longest stars spent at the Welsh castle. This year’s show lasts for three weeks and includes 25 brutal challenges.  

Snoochie Shy shouted through The Plank challenge, where contestants had to cross the quarry on planks.

Eeek! Frankie Bridge, Richard Bridge, and Frankie Bridge have been voted in by the public for the Turrets of Terror. This will see them compete to win the keys to the castle.

Ant McPartlin provided the following instructions for Richard and Frankie to complete the challenge: “Hanging high between the two towers are two huge keys. First celebrity to reach the top will be awarded their key. 

He said, “Every Turret has three floors and stairs that lead to the next floor. You must however pass through the locked gate to reach the next level. 

You must find the keys for unlocking the padlocks that will open the gates on each floor. You must reach the top of the Turret to grab your key. It is the celebrity who has managed to get their key back first that wins.   

Frankie, Richard and all the critters had to be endured because it was a Trial.  

Ahh! Frankie appeared very nervous about taking up the challenge 

 Trial: Ant explained: ‘Hanging high in the air between the two turrets are two giant keys. First celebrity to reach the top of the tower and take their key will be awarded the prize.

 Oh no! “Oh no! To get to the next level, you must pass through a gate locked to your vehicle.

 Race: ‘On each floor you must retrieve the keys to unlock the three padlocks to open each gate. Once you reach the top, you will need your lance in order to grab your key and bring it back to you. Celebrities will be the first to get their keys.

 Brace yourself! Frankie, Richard and all the critters had to take on this Trial.

It was a challenge: So far, the winning team had to decide between Richard and Frankie to represent them. The other team would continue to represent their team.

Frankie, Richard and the winner team had to pick between them while the other one would represent the opposing team. 

Richard is now facing a difficult challenge from his daughter Chloe. She admitted to Richard that he was a good sounding board and supported him throughout his time on the show.

Speaking with The Mirror, Chloe gushed: ‘He is just perfect and he is a perfect man to be a father.’   

“He’s a great laugh. He’s charming, funny, smart, perceptive and compassionate. He is truly a blessing and I thank God for that.

“He is an excellent sounding board. I am quite an emotional person and I would be lying if I said that my previous relationships didn’t have a big impact on me.’ 

Snoochie Shy, a contestant who had to climb high above the quarry using a plank, will be screaming her way through The Plank Challenge. 

Snoochie has a hard time getting across, so she had to pretend it was a party. 

Scary: Snoochie had a hard time crossing the bridge and made it seem like there was an event. Naughty Boy, however, took his time. 

Ant said, high up: Ant spoke of the challenge as: “This is going to prove to be more difficult than ever. Every celebrity will need to overcome grueling obstacles on the way to the Castle in order to obtain the keys to it.” 

Dec Donnelly said: “And each of you will face the first challenge. But not as a group. You will instead be competing head-to-head. Louise is your first challenge. [Minchin]Danny is the one you’ll be facing [Miller]Snoochie will confront Naughty Boy. 

Uh oh! Along with Danny, Louise and Naughty Boy, Naughty Boy took the step of Naughty Boy.

Eeek! Naughty Boy and Snoochie Shy held on to one another, before they took the plank. 

Prepare yourself: Danny & Louise got ready for whatever the weather would bring to the task 

Louise conquered The Plank! 

Uh-oh! After Louise and Danny began to play, the famous ‘plank wobble” returned. They tried to maintain their balance at 213 feet above quarry lake.

Ant stated that the challenge would be more difficult than ever. All celebrities must face tough challenges to reach the Castle to claim the Keys to the Castle.

Dec said, “And you all will face the first obstacle together. But not as a group.” You will instead be competing head-to-head. Louise is your first challenge. [Minchin]Danny is the one you’ll be facing [Miller]Naughty Boy and Snoochie will be your opponents. 

Naughty Boy and Danny also took to walking the plank, as did Louise.   

Other: David Ginola and Arlene Phillips and Kadeena cox were walking in the Welsh forest when they came upon a laminate, which Arlene shared with everyone.

We are going to get straight into it. The sign reads: “Celebrities welcome to Wales! Now, you four must go to battle and take part in the quest to capture the keys to Castle.

 In it to win it: ‘By winning the keys, you will have access to the Castle’s main camp, with a bed, a warm fire and a meal tonight. You will receive basic nutrition at the Castle Clink if you are a loser.

Working hard: Over walkie talkies, Ant & Dec revealed to the celebrities that the other four celebrities had just completed a challenge and the two winners from that challenge got to choose which two celebrities they’d like to join their team

Scary: Kadeena asked David if he was nervous, David said he wasn’t and Kadeena joked she was scared of everything

First up was Louise vs Danny, looking at her plank Louise said: ‘I can’t think of many things worse than this right now, it’s terrifying.’ 

Louise, Danny and their friends began playing their game. The infamous “plank wobble”, which was caused by trying to maintain their balance at 213 feet above the quarry lakes lake, returned.

Meanwhile, David Ginola, Arlene Phillips, Matty Lee and Kadeena Cox walk in the Welsh forest and came across a laminate which Arlene read out to everyone. 

They had to work together. There were one red flare box and one yellow one. To unlock the flare, the pair must lie down and place their arms into hellholes.

The helicopter takes off! After the ceremony, celebrities will be dropped at their campsite via helicopter. 

It said: “Celebrities, welcome to Wales! Now, you four must go to battle and take part in the fight to capture the keys to the Castle.

Over walkie talkies, Ant & Dec revealed to the celebrities that the other four celebrities had just completed a challenge and the two winners from that challenge got to choose which two celebrities they’d like to join their team.    

Meet and Greet: Contestants got to know each other before being whisked off to camp.

These celebrities were paired up to battle, Arlene and David vs Kadeena & Matty.

One yellow and one red flare box were provided. The pair had to lay down on the ground, and then put their arms in hell holes. They were required to share a tool with each other so that they could unlock the flare the fastest.

Danny was nervous about being in a helicopter and carrying other stars at the start of the show. 

“The thought of being in a helicopter scares me,” he said. He said that the last thing he wanted to do was get sick and be all over celebrities. So he carried a sick bag with him. 

Ex-BBC Breakfast host Louise Minchin and Olympian Matty Le, DJ Snoochie Shy and GMB stars Richard Madeley are among the stars who have made their way to the castle.

Last week’s first look photos of the camp for 2021 were released ahead of the launch of the new series later in the month.

 Frightened: He said: ‘The idea of getting in that helicopter terrifies the life out of me. It is not what I want to be like the celebrity sick, so he had a sick bag.

Tougher: The 2021 Series Stars will travel into Gwrych Castle to live in new quarters The Clink. This is for the five stars who lose their first trials.

Ant and Dec will welcome twelve new people to the Gwrych Castle grounds. Aerial images clearly show the improved setting.

Drone images of the location show two massive black boxes that have been constructed to the sides of the Grade I-listed, 19th-century country home. These boxes are likely to be more accommodating for the many challenges ahead. 

Near the castle front, there are two enormous, scaffold-covered turrets that could host the daring faces who will be competing in the Battle for the Stars.

While the overall layout is similar to that last year’s, there have been a few improvements to the massive castle over the last week in preparation of the new series.

Images show the sprawling production space that ITV show bosses have created for this year’s ITV show. There are hidden and visible areas as well as marquees.

The Clink will make life more difficult for the five celebs who start their I’m A Celeb journey. People living in The Clink are already at disadvantage because they will be forced to compete with the main camp.

Frankie is one example of such a star. He could have no bed, sleep on the hard floor and then shower in the darkness, while still holding on to a rope to let water out.

They’ll spend the majority of their daily lives in camp, trying to stay warm from the cold outside temperatures.
