After convincing a fruit picker with the use of a circular saw to remove his leg, a grandfather requested local fishermen amputate it.
Daily Mail Australia is able to reveal that Kalman Tal, aged 66, was unconscious in a restaurant at Innisfail. He had suffered terrible injuries and was unable to be revived.
Vanuatuan Man and Banana Picker John Yalu have been arrested for the assassination of Mr Tal. Yalu will be charged with using a circular saw in the amputation of Tal’s leg.
A retired man with serious health issues, Mr Tal had lived in Innisfail several years prior to his horrific and alleged murder.
The last two-years, Mr Tal was known in the town for being a skilled fisherman and had lived in a home with his son, daugher, and grandson.
On Wednesday, Mr Tal’s relatives gathered at his house but they were too upset to talk about the alleged murder.
Kalman Tal, Kalman’s grandfather, was an avid fisherman and was killed after another man, in a northern Queensland park, apparently robbed his leg.
A relative who didn’t want to be identified said his family needed ‘complete privacy to deal with the terrible circumstances surrounding the death of their father.
He claimed that Mr Tal was “ill” and “desperate” before his death. But he insisted it wasn’t diabetes, but rather another disease, which he believes will emerge over time.
He described Mr Tal as a ‘lovely man’.
Daily Mail Australia was informed that Mr Tal had been asking fishermen in Innisfail for help over the past five to six month.
According to police, other people in the area were asked by Mr Tal to cut his leg using a circular saw powered by batteries that he carried in a vehicle of late-model make and model.
On Friday, November 27, Mr Yalu was said to have been to Nite Rumours on Innisfail’s Main Street and then was convinced by Mr Tal to go with him to Fitzgerald Park.
At 3.48am, two brothers were out walking and discovered Mr Tal’s corpse in a pool bloody in a drain near Innisfail Seafood.
The paramedics could not save him.

Vanuatu’s High Commissioner to Australia flew from Canberra Tuesday night for an urgent meeting with season fruit pickers in distress who were traumatized after their coworker was found guilty of murder.
Samson Vilvil Fare gave a powerful address to around 300 Vanuatans who met in private at Innisfail’s Warrina Lakes.
Privately, the meeting was held and Mr Fare talked to workers in Vanuatan Bislama. But several workers said that Daily Mail Australia later reported that the High Commissioner had told them to keep calm and carry out their farm work.
He said that Vanuatu, despite being accused of murder, has had good relations with Australia for many years and that the accused would be able to receive diplomatic help from the office of the High Commissioner.

According to some reports, Tal asked local fishermen for an amputation of his left leg months before he died.

Yalu, who was arrested a short time after Mr Tal’s body was discovered, arrived in Australia from Vanuatu last year and regularly sends money from his fruit picking job home to his young family.
Daily Mail Australia’s Detective Acting Investigator Gary Hunter told Daily Mail Australia the victim had asked for help to remove his leg. However, he was denied.
Daily Mail Australia received multiple reports from local residents that the patient had sought the advice of a doctor, but was refused.
The police will claim that Mr Tal brought his own battery operated table saw, which he had purchased from a local hardware store, to Innisfail’s Johnstone River about 3:00 AM last Saturday. He then administered a sedative himself.
Police will claim that Yalu then took the saw to the victim’s leg and cut it below his knee.
Yalu was then accused by police of helping the victim get to his vehicle and fleeing the scene.

According to police, the victim allegedly got out of the car and fell into the drain near Innisfail’s Seafood Shop (pictured is the surrounding area).
According to investigators, it is believed that Yalu went back to his nearby boardinghouse – Innisfail Accommodation center for Non-Resident Workers. It overlooks the river bank.
The police believe that the victim then got out his car and then fell in the ditch next to Innisfail’s Seafood Shop.
He was found by two brothers in his 20s and they called the police. Paramedics were unable to save him.
Inspector Hunter claimed that Innisfail footage of Innisfail was captured early Saturday morning and is being used to aid his investigations.

Inspector Hunter, who arrived from Cairns at 5:15 am, said that junior officers still had to deal with the’very confronting scene’ in the fish-and-chip shop. He also stated there was a lot of blood.
Although Insp Hunter could confirm ‘the two men knew each other’, he said investigators were still trying to discover ‘the extent of their relationship’.
According to him, despite the reports that Yalu received a $5,000 payment from Yalu’s man, police are still trying to determine if cash exchanges took place.
According to police, there were no screams heard at the site of the alleged amputation and it was quiet in the surrounding area.

To date, forensic investigators are continuing to examine the body of the victim as well as her car and circular saw.
Yalu was in custody on Tuesday, after being denied bail early in the week.
The suspect is likely to be moved to a correctional facility soon while being held on remand, until his next court appearance in May.
A local businessman said Yalu was “a nice young man” who often sent money home to Vanuatu, his wife and kids.
Innisfail police officers are seen after the body of a man found near a fish and chips shop was discovered.
Uniform Cremini is coordinating the investigation of detectives from Innisfail (Cairns), Mareeba (Mareba) and Tully.
Yalu moved to Australia from Vanuatu last June and left behind his children.
On his social media accounts, he has a lot of photos from his children’s native countries.
Countrymen, farm workers and others who resided with Vanuatu nationals at the Rankin St properties said they were stunned by his arrest.
He claimed that he had flown to Australia in the same aircraft as the group, and they were quarantined together prior to moving into non-resident accommodation centres.
