A Russian model faces up to one year in prison for showing her bottom outside of a St Petersburg cathedral.
Irina Volksova, 30, appeared in court Sunday to seek forgiveness for an Instagram video that showed her pulling her skirt up in front of St. Isaac’s Cathedral.
‘I apologise for these images and offending the feelings of people of faith. I went too far as an Instagrammer,’ she told the judge.
‘Everything will be deleted and I will not do this again.’
The influencer was placed under house arrest but still faces jail as prosecutors say she ‘humiliated and insulted’ the Russian Orthodox Church and outraged society as a whole.

The clip was shared by her 6,000 followers in the summer, but was recently brought to the attention Russian authorities.
The case follows another last Wednesday, when an Instagram model was jailed for ten month for mimicking oral sex in front of the world-famous St Basil’s Cathedral.
Volkova was initially taken into custody and was then brought to court in handcuffs from the detention centre.
A video of her in St Petersburg, Vladimir Putin’s hometown, shows her telling a judge in a cage that she had ‘taken all the pictures without a thought’.
She was granted home arrest to care her school-age son. However, she is expected face a full trial later that could lead to a prison sentence.
Volkova was detained after she voluntarily presented herself at the Russian Investigative Board.
Last week Ruslani Murodzhonzoda, 23 — a Tajik national also known as Ruslan Bobiyev — and Anastasia Chistova, 19, had both apologised for their lewd stunt posted on Instagram, but were shown no mercy by the judge.
She was seen in a police jacket, kneeling in front him and looking at the world-famous St Basil’s cathedral.
They were sentenced to prison under a new law that found them guilty of offending the feelings of religious people.
The court stated that they had ‘committed public acts expressing clear disrespect for society’.
After completing his sentence, he will be deported.
Chistova said, “Now I understand the price of such popularity.
“And I must answer to the fullest extent law with my freedom and public condemnation, disapproval of my parents, and those close to me.
“I am very hurt.”
She also claimed that Murodzhonzoda chose the location, and she assured her that there was nothing wrong.
