Philip Knatchbull (60), Curzon Cinemas CEO, is the father of Curzon Cinemas’ 18-year old son, Wendy Knatchbull. He and Wendy are grandsons of 1st Earl Mountbatten from Burma.
His fashion designer sister, Daisy, is friends with the Manners sisters of The Crown’s Belvoir Castle, and his girlfriend is Tatler cover girl Delphi Primrose, 18, daughter of Sotheby’s boss Lord Dalmeny.
Regardless of Freddy’s impeccable social networks, Freddy’s beautiful looks won him a contract from SELECT Management.
The 6ft1in teenager, athletic and well-built, was observed while walking along London’s Oxford Street. He told FEMAIL that the ‘it took off from there.
It doesn’t hurt having a popular surname.
His words were: “It would not be naive to me not acknowledge that my family history will give me an immediate advantage in modeling,”

Freddy lives with his London parents. He is now taking a gap-year before moving on to university. Freddy hopes to pursue politics.
Freddy, unlike many others in Freddy’s position, prefers not to post on Instagram.
He said, “I love sports and have always loved it.” ‘I’m a massive Arsenal fan and love playing football, I also play a lot of basketball and support the Los Angeles Lakers and I love going to the gym.
“I enjoy acting. However, I haven’t had the opportunity to since high school. Fishing is something I enjoy, regardless of whether it’s fly fishing in River Test or deep-sea fishing in Atlantic.
“My father was in the movie business. I go to the cinema every day with him.

Philip Knatchbull is the son of Patricia Knatchbull, 2nd Countess Mountbatten of Burma, the eldest daughter of the Duke of Edinburgh’s beloved uncle ‘Dickie’ Mountbatten.
Nicholas, Philip’s younger brother, was one of the victims in the 1979 IRA Bombing which claimed the lives of his grandfather.
Freddy was a child listening to stories about his great-grandfather. ‘It was nice to hear the private side of the public persona,’ Freddy said.
Philip is the father of Daisy Cowan and Atalanta Cowan’s first wife. He shares Freddy (17) and John (17) with Wendy.
Freddy shared that Freddy’s family was supportive. Freddy said, “I love my family to the core and I am so happy they are excited about me.”
“My mother was also a model. She gives me tons of information about modeling.
Also, he shares tips with Delphi Primrose (his girlfriend for six-months), a descendant to Archibald Philip Primrose (5th Earl of Rosebery), who is signed by Storm Models. Storm Models was famous for discovering Kate Moss.
Freddy is a recent casting candidate for a Netflix lead role. However, he has not yet revealed the details.
‘We chat about it a lot and we’re both very supportive of each other’s careers,’ he said. We love attending events together and would be thrilled to do a shoot together.
Recently, the couple was spotted at Tatler’s star-studded Little Black Book party.
Daisy, his sister, was 29 when Freddy introduced Delphi. She is also the founder and CEO of The Deck. The Deck tailors exclusively for women and has been featured on Liz Hurley, Jodie Whitney, and the Duchess.
Freddy stated, “Daisy has proven herself to be one of the most respected people in this industry. She also gave me great advice.” ‘I’m very proud to be her brother.’
No matter which advice he’s following, it’s working.

Freddy was recently “very close” to being cast as the lead in a Netflix series. He remains tight-lipped about the details, even though he had been through a number of casting rounds.
‘I didn’t land the role in the end but it has sort of inspired me to lean towards maybe doing some acting. Models can end up working in the acting world,’ he stated.
“I feel very at ease in front of the camera. You can do it naturally. Models can be made to feel more alive by the way they pose. It is very important to me that the photographer communicates with the model.
Freddy is interested in working with brands Freddy ‘wears everyday’ such as Burberry and Gucci.
He added: ‘I’ve been able to work with some amazing people and I’m really looking forward to the future.’

Freddy’s great-grandfather is Louis Mountbatten, 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma, who played an influential role in the life of his nephew, Prince Philip, and his great-nephew, Prince Charles.
Charles referred to Lord Mountbatten as his Honorary Grandfather, and consulted him on matters both of state and of the heart.
The couple’s close bond was shown in The Crown, a hit Netflix series. Lord Mountbatten was played by Greg Wise (seasons 2 and 3) and Charles Dance (3 and 4).
Lord Mountbatten, affectionately known as ‘Dickie’, married Edwina Ashley and had two daughters, Patricia Knatchbull, 2nd Countess Mountbatten of Burma, who died in 2017, aged 93, and Lady Pamela Hicks, 92.

Edwina Mountbatten was 58 when she died from unknown causes. Her husband, Louis, died in the 1979 IRA bombing that also claimed the life of his 14-year-old grandson Nicholas and Paul Maxwell, a 15-year-old crew member.
Doreen Brabourne, Dowager Lady Brabourne was Patricia’s mother-in law. She died of her injuries.

After marrying in a wedding when the then Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret served as bridesmaids, Patricia and her husband, John Knatchbull, 7th Baron Brabourne, had eight children, including Nicholas. Another son, Anthony, died at birth.
Penny Knatchbull was Philip Knatchbull’s sister-in law. She is now Lady Brabourne and is a good friend. They shared a love for carriage driving. Penny and Prince Philip share a laugh at the Windsor Horse Show in 2009.
