Washington Football Team safety Deshazor Everett crashed his sports car, killing his female passenger night after slamming into a tree in Virginia Thursday night.

According to TMZ, Everett was 29 years old and driving a Nissan GT-R 2010 with a top speed 193 mph. He crashed along with Olivia S. Peters, 29, from Las Vegas.

There have not been any arrests and charges as yet. Alcohol isn’t thought to have played a role in the crash, but authorities are continuing their investigation.

Peters was taken into a nearby hospital and declared dead.

According to media outlets, Everett was transported to another hospital in the area. There he remains as of Friday. 

These injuries were not fatal but serious.

Peters’ fate or that of the other victims has not been revealed. 

Everett played college football at Texas A&M, and signed as an undrafted free agent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2015 before joining Washington that same year.

The Washington Football Team (formerly the Washington Redskins) released a statement Friday regarding the crash. 

“We send our deepest condolences to all the families and friends that have lost a dear one.” 

“Our thoughts, prayers and condolences go out to all those who have been touched by this tragic event. The league office has been notified by our team and we are working closely with the local authorities.

Everett was the second NFL player to be featured for his involvement in a fatal car accident.

Police found that Henry Ruggs III, a former wide receiver with the Las Vegas Raiders, had twice the blood alcohol level in Nevada. Ruggs was travelling at 156 mph during the period leading to the accident that claimed the life of another driver and seriously injured his girlfriend.

Tina Tintor (23 years old) has been identified as the victim by police.

Ruggs was pictured in a mugshot shortly after his crash. It shows Ruggs, now-former Las Vegas Raiders receiver, with a neck brace on and a cut across the nose. His first hearing was his in wheelchair.

Ruggs, 22 years old, was dropped by the team just hours before his first court appearance in the felony cases of reckless driving. 

According to Clark County District attorney Steve Wolfson, he can face between 2 and 46 years imprisonment if convicted.

Ruggs might also be facing additional charges over a gun that was allegedly discovered by police on Ruggs’ Corvette driver’s side.
