As a dedicated sports car lover, Rod Stewart probably gave no thought to turning up to his son’s football match in a shiny – but tiny – new motor.
But it seems his new £200,000 Ferrari left room for improvement for his 6ft wife Penny Lancaster, 50, who drove their son Aiden, ten, to the game in a separate car.
Sir Rod celebrated his 77th Birthday last week. He turned heads when he rode to Essex’ match in his F8 Tributo two-seater.

With only one spare seat in her husband’s car, Miss Lancaster got behind the wheel of a white Mercedes AMG G63 worth £160,000 – with a little more room for her model frame.
Sir Rod is a generous man who will give three inches to his wife of 6 feet 1in height. He was wrapped in a black puffer jacket and a white Celtic sweater.
Aiden was in his team’s football kit – matching the Celtic colours.

Before Sir Rod and Miss Lancaster drove off in their Mercedes-Benzes, he gave Rod a loving hug.
The singer has always had a passion for sports cars and had owned several Lamborghinis, including a rare black and white Aventador SVJ worth £290,000.

After their meal, Sir Rod gave Miss Lancaster a hug and followed it with a hot cup of tea before Miss Lancaster drove off in her luxury car.
He also owned a 1977 Porsche 911 Turbo Carrera Turbo Carrera, Rolls-Royce, and Ferrari Enzo. These were all part of his vast collection that he purchased in 2003 and then sold in 2013.
Sir Rod received just under £1million for the supercar but regrets his decision, as it is now worth more than £2million.
He was married to Miss Lancaster in 2007. The couple has two sons, Alastair (16) and Aiden (15).
