Brian laughed and said: “But it is fine. It doesn’t leave a lot of carbon here, I think. You can certainly burn logs here, but not at this time.

Brian announced in August that Anita Dobson and he were moving out of London following flash floods which destroyed their Kensington house.
He and his 72-year-old EastEnders legend spouse, Queen guitarist, decided to leave the capital, which he called too “brutal” to bear.
Brian explained how floods had been the catalyst for them leaving the region. He also described how they came to hate the place and how it was difficult for them to stay there for so long.
The couple’s Kensington property was devastated on July 12th this year, with the carpets and rugs, his childhood photo albums and Anita’s treasured keepsakes ruined by a ‘stinking sludge’ following a period of extreme heavy rainfall.
Brian told The Mirror that their decision was to move. Funny thing about it is that we really hated being where we are.
‘We put a lot of love and care into building the house but the surroundings have been horrible for such a long time. The basements have been built for eight years. There is noise pollution, dust, traffic, and dirt. London is now brutal.
He said that floods had been a catalyst for them leaving, and that they just needed to get out.
Brian also shared his reflections on returning to his home the day after it was destroyed, and how he found his basement floor “floating in black sewage”.
It was very unpleasant, and it will never be the same feeling about this house as before. It will not be the same house again. We have decided to give up and are happy with the way things stand.
He said that he had ‘never imagined’ his basement would be inundated and that he didn’t sleep for 4 days trying to save photos, memorabilia and treasures from the water.
