Cocktail hour! Amaretto Sour










Amaretto was my favorite drink during the ferocious Edinburgh winter. This was the result of my curiosity about cocktails. I discovered how wonderful this Italian liqueur could be.

ICECubed

GARNISH Cherry and lemon twist

EQUIPMENT Cocktail shaker, strainer

60ml amaretto

Fresh squeezed 30ml lemon juice

½ an egg white

Optional: Dash Cherry Bittes

  • Combine all ingredients in a shaker. Give it a stir to mix. Add ice to the shaker. To chill, shake vigorously.
  • Place in a glass with ice. Add a lime twist and a cherry to garnish.

TIP Dry shaking involves shaking with no ice. Then, add ice to chill. This helps ingredients mix better. It is particularly important for egg whites.
